Actually any country that decides to join EBU can participate in ESC. So such nations

as Australia and The US could actually participate if they would join EBU. The title of the

contest is somewhat misleading since there are no geographic restrictions for participating.

And those two are rumoured to be next year's hosts because they have been hosting the show

in Finnish for the past few years.

Why do I get the feeling that if the USA entered they would almost certainly always get nul points (or maybe 12 from the more sycophantic/chavvy of the British populace) due to anti-American sentiments in Europe. Well, unless they sent someone big. But if they won, I can't imagine too many countries would be too happy to fly their singers all the way over to New York or wherever they'd host it - and could you imagine the commercialism it would get? It would be sickening - they'd probably do McDonalds sweepstakes or something like that.

They would be very hated! And whoever they sent they would be RnB oreinted, which doesn't work at ESC.

If the Eurovision ever goes to Armenia, it will actually be held at 11pm-2am Armenian time so if it went to the USA it would be in the afternoon American time!

The USA is apparently doing their own Eurovision as well with the states. Queue dozens of generic R'n'B "songs" :puke2:

Not nescessarily...apparently, the states have been recommended to make the song a true representation of their own culture...so there will be all sorts in there

More on ESC 2007, Finland have decided to opt with the same strategy as the way they chose Lordi, and Denmark have already chosen the dates for national semi-finals and finals!
