April 19, 200817 yr Author I'm a big fan of Brooke but don't think Hero is a song that works as an unplugged song, its a song that demands power I think... I now want David Cook & Brooke in the final... I'm fully with you - the best final would be Brooke & David C. I think screaming Syesha should have gone instead of Kristy. Kristy put on her second best performance tonight. Her best being God Bless The USA. As for When You Believe, neither David A and Leon Jackson for me could pull it off. It's really a duet and doesn't work for a solo artist. Mariah & Whitney's original version was a real bomb. Although I was never a Whitney fan apart from One Moment In Time. I didn't like Mariah's performance either. Since she got into the 5-note R&B stuff to me she's gone downhill. I used to love her back in the 90s. Edited April 20, 200817 yr by Euro Music
April 20, 200817 yr I didn't like Mariah's performance either. Since she got into the R&B stuff to me she's gone downhill. I used to love her back in the 90s. without wishing to turn this into a Mariah thread, I don't think her sound has changed *that* much since the 1990s, she's always mixed piano ballads like Hero and Without You with R&B club songs like Honey and Heartbreaker her new album is really just a continuation of that formula
April 20, 200817 yr Author without wishing to turn this into a Mariah thread, I don't think her sound has changed *that* much since the 1990s, she's always mixed piano ballads like Hero and Without You with R&B club songs like Honey and Heartbreaker her new album is really just a continuation of that formula I'm not going to mention her again after this but I loved her with songs such as: Vision Of Love - I Don't Want To Cry - Someday - Always Be My Baby - Forever. But today she just seems to churn out boring R&B. Edited April 20, 200817 yr by Euro Music
April 24, 200817 yr it was always going to be a girl who went this week...though I would have put money on Syesha and Brooke going before Carly...as I haven't seen the performances yet I can't comment on whether she deserved to go...
April 24, 200817 yr Carly Smithson went out last night with Syesha also in the bottom two... Aww I really liked her!
April 25, 200817 yr im guuuted she went performence wise a certain blonde should have gone both bottom two shouldnt have been bottom 2 she was imo the best this season it will def be a david vs david finale and in that case david cook shud win
April 25, 200817 yr I was surprised Brooke got through with that performance to be honest...as much as I love her...
April 25, 200817 yr Author It should have been Syesha that should have gone - in fact this OTT screecher should have gone weeks ago. So Brooke lost the words, but so did David A a few weeks ago and he got through. The quality of her voice has got her through. Although David C is the one to beat.
April 30, 200817 yr OMFG! Carly got sent home!! unbelieveable. I thought she done REALLY well with Superstar...
May 1, 200817 yr bah Brooke went home yesterday...the 3 boys and Syesha are left...she has really lasted much longer than I had expected
May 1, 200817 yr Brooke was quite good!!! She could've been the next Annie Lenox. David Cook to win. Dunno what Jason is still doing there. Damn you Vote For The Worst!! Edited May 2, 200817 yr by Mark.
May 1, 200817 yr Author Just how could Brooke go and not that OTT screecher Syesha. All the talented ones keep getting knocked out week by week except for DC. If CD goes there will only be rubbish left. All I can say is David Cook to win. There is no one else left with anywhere near the talent he has left.
May 2, 200817 yr Jason Castro - "I'm Ready To Go Home" American Idol 7 finalist Jason Castro didn't get voted out on Wednesday, but he's ready to go home. On Monday, well before the performance show, he told Entertainment Weekly, "What happens happens. I'll sing and if people like it, they like it. And if they don't, they don't. I'm kind of ready to go home." He's so ready to go home that he basically blew off practicing. The magazine reports that "his brother and a friend had visited over the weekend and that his Saturday meeting with Diamond had gone 'really bad' because he didn't yet know his songs." Why the ambivalence? "It's been overwhelming. I got 150 balloons yesterday delivered to the studio because people heard I was sick last week. That's cool, but that's just weird," Jason said. .................................. Maybe this accounts for Jason's attitude on Result's night this week. I got the distinct feeling that he really didn't care one way, or another...if he stayed, or went. I think the judges have picked up on this too, and sense a lack of effort on his part? I really like Jason...he seems like a fun guy, but if he isn't serious about winning then why should his fans care whether they vote, or not?
