Posted March 21, 200817 yr That's The Way It Is Now - Remake With Shawn Klush :angry: This has become a major talking point on various Elvis forums and message boards on the web. For those who don’t know, Shawn Klush is, the guy who was voted the ‘World’s Best ‘Elvis’. Now whilst I don’t agree with that title as I believe there is only ONE Elvis and he’s no longer with us, I don’t have any major problems with him. I’m not the greatest fan of ETAs (I prefer to listen to Elvis himself) but I’ve been lucky that the couple I’ve seen have put on a good show, and been respectful to Elvis. I would never compare their performances to Elvis as that’s impossible. No one could possibly have the vocal ability, looks, character, charisma and magic of the man :wub: He was a one off, but I enjoyed those two shows I saw, simply just to hear Elvis’ music being performed live by two men who were obviously big fans of Elvis and didn’t try to pretend that they actually WERE Elvis. I’ll be honest though, I much prefer seeing the TCB Band playing Elvis music with Jenson Bloomer performing the vocals in his own style See : http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=6332 Right, now to get to the actual point of the thread ;) Apparently Shawn Klush is recreating ‘That’s The Way It Is.’ For me, and most true Elvis fans, this is a complete and utter No No! :angry: There is no way anyone could, or in fact, should, ever try to do this. TTWII was a documentary of Elvis in Vegas and every move he made, every word he uttered, was spontaneous. It was Elvis himself, being Elvis and this could never ever be recreated or copied by any one else. This is a step too far for Shawn Klush. I think, with this action, he will lose support from people who enjoy his shows. Stick to what you do Shawn. I do believe he has turned on people to the music of Elvis. I’m sure there are ones whom, having seen him perform, have gone out to buy an Elvis CD and that is fantastic, but, speaking as a fan who was turned onto Elvis by Elvis alone, I say stick to doing your shows, Shawn, and remember you are not Elvis, just an impersonator. There was only ever one Elvis Presley, the man who made TTWII. You can not improve on perfection so don’t even try :rolleyes: Here is the link to the topic that has so incensed us Elvis fans.
