I hope its Jessie vs Jodie in the final 2.

Me too. Rachel is rising in my estimations (I'd like to see some more of her personality though, I feel like I know nothing about her), but I just see her as completely safe, just as Connie and Lee were exactly what you'd expect from Maria and Joseph. I'd like the Nancy to be unpredictable, passionate and exciting, and I don't feel that Rachel is yet. I also can never pick her vocals out in the group songs when I listen to them on mp3! Even the others I don't like I can at least identify!!

Jessie or Jodie for the win, methinks! I probably would go if one of them won, but I'm more excited to go see Sarah in something

Mine are

1 Jessie

2 Samantha

3 Rachel

4 Jodie

5 Niamh

6 Ashley

Ashley should have went long ago, I think ALW is saving her just in case one of the good ones for example Jessie is in the bottom 2 along with Ashley. ALW is playing a tactical game. I just hope in the final the public gets the final say.

Didn't you say on page 3 that neither Rachel or Jessie would ever be in the bottom two? :P mwahaha!

I quite like Jodie now, im very suprised it was Sarah who went last week though. Hopefully Ashley or Niamh will be the next to go.

Review time on the first three performances

Jessie was a bit too shouty, I agree with ALW, she had the wrong song choice, her worst performance to date after last week.

Niamh again was a bit too shouty in places, I still think she will be a singer, when the show is over, somebody is bound to give her a record contract

And finally Ashley, I think ALW said it all, she needs to run for the bus  :D I loved out loud when ALW said that.

so far... the performances are very poor.

The last 3

Samantha had the best performance of the show tonight, not going to argue with that

Jodie was a bit cruise ship-ish, did nothing for me, her weakest performance to date

Rachel, I must say that was the wrong song choice for her, and her weakest performance.

====

All the girls didn't really perform that well tonight, only Samantha came on top.

I agree, the pressure seems to be telling on the remaining contestants.

Tonight Samantha was definitely the best performance, so if it goes to the usual form, she'll be in the bottom 2 tomorrow.

Ashley is definitely a class below the other 5 remaining and surely has to go soon.

i thought Rachel was bad and Ashley also the others were ok but no one stood out for me tonight bit of a disappointing week :(

It's clear to see that, as was the case after Fran left, that having someone so talented thrown out has a huge knock on the remaining contestants. I can only imagine how much better this weeks show would have been with Sarah and Francesca there to sparkle things up. This weeks was dire, for just about every contestant.

Jessie - Disappointing, and her worst to date. But I don't understand what more she was supposed to do with Fighter, it's clearly not her sort of song, and nothing like anything Nancy has to do.

Niamh - Should be thrown out for letting them put her in that dress alone! It was awful!! I have to be honest and admit I don't really remember her performance. Which isn't a good sign.

Ashely - By miles the best of the first three, for me. I actually understood what she said, and thought she was completely stitched up by DVO. She really has it in for her, and was bare malicious towards her, as was ALW. I've lost a lot of respect for him due to his remarks to Ashley recently. He might not like her, but he's coming across as a bully, and hugely unprofessional.

Samantha - Gave, to me, her best performance to date, but still not anywhere near good enough to be a West-End leading lady. JB was ridiculous when he said she had great diction - I could hardly tell she was singing in English, and I had the bloody words on the screen! No-where near enough of the standard that is required. I want to like this girl so much, but she's just not doing it for me.

Jodie - The best of tonight, I thought. Not her best, but of tonight, by far the best vocal.

Rachel - Growing on me more and more. I liked her in Week 1, then lost it completely until last week. I'm annoyed she beat Sarah out, of course, but she's getting better and better for me, I think this was her 2nd/3rd best performance for me. The comments from the 'panel' were way out IMO, but she's not a 'chosen one', so can't expect so anymore.

As for the trio - the older lot REALLY pulled it out of the bag for me tonight. The younger ones seemed to be more in competition with each other for attention, whereas the older ones moved as one and worked really well together. Jessie's proven herself before so I'd still count her as in with a shot, but the other three are my favorites now.

If anyone wants the result of tomorrow's show, PM me.

wasnt the greatest night ever.

Jessie - her worst performance yet, was still good but nothing special

Niamh - rather good for her but she has no star quality for me

Ashley - decent, but again she hasn't done anything to make me go Wow

Samantha - really good she is upping her game every week but I still wouldn't put her in my top 3 overall

Jodie - really good as always but It was a bit ott.

Rachel - really liked this, makes a change from yet going to mad with the vocals, but still she could have did better.

I'm thinking it will be a shock again tonight with one of the better ones going.

I have a weird feeling it will be Jodie or Rachel in the bottom 2

I think the sing-off proved my point about Ashley. It showed Niamh to be competent singing pop songs, but out her depth singing Musical Theatre. Bad decision, and enough of the 'out-of-tune' comments. If Niamh wasn't weak at the start of the sing off, I don't know what was.
Oh poo, I missed the sing off, who did ALW save tonight... anyone
Ashley proved she would of been an amazing Nancy with 'As Long As He Needs Me', her rendition was the best yet IMO.
so glad Ashleys gone just should of been Rachel in the bottom 2 with her not Niamh -_-

HOW is Niamh at all suitable for Nancy?! I just don't see it :|

And how come Sarah was too short and young for the role, yet Niamh can 'redefine' it?! The blatant favoritism towards the younger girls, Sam in particular, is really starting to grate on me. The wheels could already have been set in motion for ALW to be able to get rid of Jodie or Rachel next week, by damning Rachel this week, and by suggesting Jodie will get a fast song to dance to, and there not be able to sing to her usual standard to.

The only people left in this competition who can handle 8 shows a week are Rachel and Jodie. The acting task proved both Sam and (much as I like her) Jessie to be unsuitable, and Niamh just hasn't got the vocal for it. The sing off proved how weak her voice is with musical theatre songs. No way in hell do I think she could handle 8 shows a week as a leading lady. Not yet, anyway. Ashley's ALAHNM was so effortless, but I can't imagine Niamh handling it well at all. Such a bad decision, on par with losing Sarah, Fran and Keisha.

Ashley vs Niamh, Niamh saved.

Well after run for the bus comment, hardly surprising  thanks... I think we lose Niamh next week. If she ends up bottom 2 again ALW won't save her for the third time, unlucky for some.

Like I said, I wouldn't be surprised if we, unfairly, lost Rachel or Jodie. But Niamh is skating on thin ice now.

To be honest, even though I'm skeptical about everything he comes out with related to Ashely, I think The Lord could see that Ashley wiped the floor with Niamh in the sing-off, and maybe even wanted to save her as he does see a lot of potential in her. But he couldn't backtrack for a second time and save her again like he did with Fran. I've heard, actually, that he's already offered her a role in something else.

i want Sam to win

Sam is a babe great voice

luved her from the start

SAM 2 WIN

  • Author

Well, no surprise to see that Sam's been given this week's money song to make it even more blatantly obvious that ALW is desperate for her to win. For anyone who wants to know, it's

Defying Gravity, from Wicked

. If she pulls it off, she'll sail into the final.

Jodie has

Holding Out For A Hero

... and they're the only two I know so far, but I think Rachel and Jessie both have

ballads

.
