HMV has this down for a May 26th release, so I guess now is the time to make an official topic for it. :unsure:

I thought it was October/September time either way i hope it goes well, TTLF was amazing but just had the wrong single choices (except Catch You) I still think its not the right time for a GH but we'll see how it goes.

She said Early Spring so that would be right

I don't know how to call it. Might break the top 10 but I don't know whether it would hang around for long.

I reckon it wont sell more than 100k. I think the record company have made a mistake, they should of recorded a new album then do a GH.

Whilst I do agree it's too early and she should have had another album before this, I get the feeling her label are doing it to fulfill a contract. :(

 

It's like with Girls Aloud and Natalie Imbruglia, imagine how much better those GH collections would have been with one more album's worth of singles on it.

 

I too think this could scrape into the top 10, as they seem to be putting the effort in with a supposed single due just before it. I can't see it hanging around at all, but I hope it doesn't drop down as fast as TTLF did.

girls aloud greatest hits did very well but i was so disappointed with natalie's greatest hits performance,i odnt know how sophies greatest hits will do i just hope she doesnt suffer like jamelia did if its just fulfilling a contract

is sophie using the yes sir i can boogie song on some album as she has done a studio version of the song??

I think it'll do considerably better than GH's by Jamelia and Kelis etc as they seem to be putting in effort with a single, I can imagine it having a similar run to Natalie's GH if I'm honest.

 

Sophie used her version of 'Yes Sir, I Can Boogie' as a b-side to 'I Won't Change You', which was a single by her 4 years ago.

I doubt the greatest hits collection will do that well to be honest. She hasnt enough material. If the singles from trip the lights fantastic can't do well, then I dont know what would help reboost her career.

I agree that it will probably do what Natalie Imbruglias GH did. Hopefully the single will help it do better than the GH by Kelis & Jamelia

Let's hope she releases the right single. Most people know which single I would have released as the follow-up to Catch You. ;)

This better to better than Nat's Greatest Hits because 50k sold will end her career, with Fascination at least; she needs to sell gold again.

 

Also to release the GH in May would be utter madness. Leave it til November so it can actually SELL in the Christmas rush and do two to three times what it would at any other time of year. If the label have ANY sense they'll do that.

 

Hopefully the rumours of leaving the GH til October are true. Either way it won't be coming out in two months. :heehee:

If its a good price and 2CDs then it will sell better

And hopefully its promoted well....unlike TTLF

I think to have a greatest hits you should have at least 5 studio albums before, otherwise there ends up being singles collections, ultimate..., and others which just seems a bit of a rip-off.
