In between promoting her third single in Australia and filming her first video clip in the US, singing sensation Delta Goodrem yesterday added makeshift mum to her busy schedule.

 

Within hours of her flight from Los Angeles touching down in Sydney yesterday, Goodrem had reunited with her Irish fiance Brian McFadden and his two daughters Molly-Marie, 6, and Lilly-Sue, 5.

 

With little time to recover from the effects of jet-lag, the 23-year-old shelved her glamourous sexpot image for that of maternal wife-to-be, joining McFadden in taking the little girls on an Easter excursion to the Sydney Aquarium.

 

The trials and tribulations of parenthood coupled with a bitter divorce have not provided an easy ride for McFadden since his daughters with troubled UK pop singer Kerry Katona were born, with Goodrem playing a positive female role model for the young girls.

 

And their first trip to Australia was no exception, with the young singer juggling her own US career commitments to look after the children when their father was busy promoting his career.

 

With McFadden travelling interstate to spruik his single Like Only A Woman Can, Goodrem and her mother Lea stepped up to minding duties for Molly-Marie and Lilly-Sue when they arrived before the singer left for the US a week ago.

 

As Katona has reportedly re-entered rehab, the girls' two week stay at Lea's Glenhaven home has provided a welcome respite from their biological mother's drug, alcohol and bipolar battles.

 

"Delta has a lovely rapport with the girls and they have had a wonderful time here, they have absolutely loved it," Goodrem's manager told Confidential yesterday.

it must be so hard for the girls but don't say that ^^....atleast she is there and in relative good health...You cant say they'd be better without her because we couldn't possible know any other circumstances...but i know what you mean...

Well I didn't quite mean it like that...I just meant cuz she seems such a mess right now..

 

Obviously she is there mother and they wouldn't exist without her so I don't mean that I wish she wasn't their mother. Just seems such a mess right now with the drugs and stuff.

brian is stupid and should have never had those children with kerry. but in saying that i think that they are starting to have a good life away from their mother and with brian and delta
