It really is incredible that the Beatles greatest ever single is the one that broke what would have otherwise been a run of 18 straight UK#1 hits, and it was kept off the top by a truly terrible song as well.

I only like

The Beatles ...........................Penny Lane / Strawberry Fields Forever

The Hollies............................ On A Carousel

The Seekers .........................Georgy Girl

Herman's Hermits .................There's A Kind Of Hush

The Tremeloes ......................Here Comes My Baby

The Monkees ........................I'm A Believer

Alan Price Set ......................Simon Smith And The Amazing Dancing Bear

Marvin Gaye & Kim Weston ...It Takes Two

The Rolling Stones ................Let's Spend The Night Together

Cat Stevens .........................Matthew And Son

And I'm really in two minds about the Herman's Hermits one.

Norma

 ... i know what you mean...

I think its because I've got the Carpenters' version of it in my head that makes me leave it in there!
