March 26, 200817 yr Airplay counts more This is how the Hot 100 is calculated: Sales are divided by 10 (so 100,000 downloads sold = 10,000 chart points) Impressions are divided by 10,000 (so 100 million impressions = 10,000 chart points) Streamings are divided by 500 (so 50,000 streams = 100 chart points) In common terms, 100,000 downloads is equal to 100 million impressions. Which means that Leona is 80k ahead on downloads and so she makes up to 70 million impressions she is behind Usher.
March 26, 200817 yr sorry they've actually increased airplay. At the moment its: Leona: 219237 + 38000 = 257237 Usher: 138414 + 117000 = 255414 it will be up to streams and physical sales to see who is #1
March 26, 200817 yr It's so close! Come on Leona...she will never have a lead like this again against the opposition. Mariah's now surging into the lead and is guaranteed at no.1 now for a good few weeks!

March 26, 200817 yr I'm afraid it probably will be! Cos Leona isn't slated to perform yet on American Idol...and if does happen it will have to be right after Mariah's album comes out(which will again boost her download sales) and so any gap between the two will be small and Mariah's airplay advantage will see her win that race. At the End of April Leona is off to Oz and the American promotional trip ends, for a short time, so her downloads rally wont increase....more stabilize then fall.

Leona has to outsell Mariah by a considerable amount (as she did Usher) to stand a chance of getting to No 1. This may be Leona's only chance ...
March 26, 200817 yr Oh my gosh, this really is going to be close in the end. I just hope Leona has edged it. But if she doesn't she will still be #2, which is great. It will just be so disappointing that she was so close.
