The sheer beauty of the Tim Buckley cover triumphs over one of the best British female vocalists. This really was a battle of the voices. Next up is another of the best indie records of the 80s which combined the vocal beauty of the Cocteaus with the indie pop sensibility of The Smiths. Here is The Sundays with Can't be Sure. Can I have some nominations for records from the 50s, 60s and 70s as I think I have been too 80s heavy. So nominate away. You have until whenever I get round to announcing the results to vote! March 29, 200817 yr Seeing The Sundays video above doesn't work Here's one that does jCS28eMXPwI Definately The Sundays Got this one - and the album I once had a dinner date with Harriet Wheeler. She was gorgeous. I won the date in a radio competition. As for This Mortal Coil - didn't they eventually evolve into the Cocteau Twins. Edited April 14, 200817 yr by Euro Music

Thanks for the vid Euromusic. It was working this morning! I am intrigued about the Harriet Wheeler date but your info on The Cocteaus/This Mortal Coil is very suspect! Both were on 4AD and the members of The Cocteaus were asked by the label boss, Ivo, to contribute to This Mortal Coil. Edited March 29, 200817 yr by grebo69
March 31, 200817 yr As for This Mortal Coil - they eventually evolved into the Cocteau Twins. The were also on the late Anthony Wilson's Factory label. nah.. they didn't - This Mortal Coil was a separate project that included quite a few 4AD acts over the years - Elizabeth Fraser being one of them. They carried on until the early 90s. As for this soundclash -This Mortal Coil absolutely... The Sundays were feeble, boring whimsy.
