Agent for the C.I.A. Gene Bradley, poses as an actor in order to crack his cases. With:- GENE BARRY as Gene Bradley / BARRY MORSE as Mr Parminter / CATHERINE SCHELL as Diane Marsh / GARRICK HAGON as Gavin Jones / STUART DAMON as Vince THE ADVENTURES OF ROBIN HOOD (56-60) Period action adventure series. Exploits of Robin Hood and his merry men as they try to outwit the evil Sheriff of Nottingham. Throughout the shows run various of the characters were played by several actors, in fact Paul Eddington pops up a number of times in different roles. With:- Richard Greene as Robin Hood THE ADVENTURES OF WILLIAM TELL (58-59) Period action adventure series. In 14th Century Austria William Tell finds himself tangling with the evil Gessler. With:-CONRAD PHILLIPS as William Tell THE BARON (65) Action adventure series. A top undercover agent poses as an antiques dealer in order to crack his investigations. With:- STEVE FORREST as John Mannering THE BUCCANEERS (56-57) Period action adventure series. In the 1920's ex pirate Dan Tempest defends the Caribbean colonies against the Spanish. Tempest's ship The Sultana had previously been seen in the film Moby Dick. With:- ROBERT SHAW as Dan Tempest THE CHAMPIONS (69) Scifi Drama series. Three people find themselves with special powers after their plane crashes in the Andes and they are treated by Tibetans. They use their powers working for a government agency fighting evil. With:- STUART DAMON as Craig Stirling / ALEXANDRA BASTEDO as Sharon McCready / WILLIAM GAUNT as Richard Barrett / ANTHONY NICHOLLS as Cmdr Tremayne DANGER MAN (60-67) Action adventure series. Cases of suave loner intelligence agent John Drake. The final two episodes were made in colour. With:- PATRICK McGOOHAN as John Drake DEPARTMENT S (69-70) Crime action adventure series. A trio of international agents work for Interpol on seemingly unsolvable cases. See also Jason King. With:- PETER WYNGARDE as Jason King / JOEL FABIANI as Stewart Sullivan / ROSEMARY NICHOLS as Annabelle Hurst JASON KING (71) Crime drama series. Spin off from Department S. Ultra smooth, suave champagne drinking novelist Jason King finds himself continually involved in mysteries. With:- PETER WYNGARDE as Jason King MAN IN A SUITCASE (68) Crime drama series. Cases of tough, loner, Europe based, American ex-CIA man turned private eye, McGill. This show has one of the all time great theme tunes. With:- RICHARD BRADFORD as McGill THE PERSUADERS (71) Action adventure series. Exploits of two playboy troubleshooters, the suave Lord Brett Sinclair and the tough Danny Wilde from the back streets of Brooklyn. Lord Brett Sinclair played by ROGER MOORE ,Danny Wilde played by TONY CURTIS THE PRISONER (67-68) Cult TV drama series. A one time secret agent is kidnapped and kept in confinement in an idyllic village from which there is no escape. The series was set in Portmerion and was highly strange. McGoohan also wrote and directed several of the episodes. Number Six played by PATRICK McGOOHAN RANDALL AND HOPKIRK(DECEASED) (69) Fantasy comedy crime drama series. When Marty Hopkirk, private detective, is killed in a hit and run accident he comes back as a ghost to help his partner, Jeff Randall, on his cases. US Title: My Partner the Ghost With:- MIKE PRATT as Jeff Randall / KENNETH COPE as Marty Hopkirk / ANNETTE ANDRE as Jeannie Hopkirk THE RETURN OF THE SAINT (78) Action adventure series. A revival of Roger Moore's 1960's series The Saint again featuring Simon Templar involved in international intrigue in foreign locations, although this time some of the locations were real instead of back projections. With:- IAN OLGILVY as Simon Templar THE SAINT (62-69) Action adventure series. Simon Templar, a wealthy adventurer travels around the world fighting crime and helping damsels in distress. Simon Templar drove a yellow volvo P1800.Twice revived once in 1978 as The Return of the Saint and again very briefly in 1989 with Simon Dutton as the Saint. Simon Templar played by ROGER MOORE
March 30, 200817 yr i was mainly too young for most of those, but watched and enjoyed 'the saint', 'the persuaders' and 'randal and hopkirk'... was good. dunno though wether as a cynical, grumpy old man id like them today. March 30, 200817 yr I do remember seeing re-airings of The Adventures od Robin Hood, The Prisoner, and original The Saint throughout the 1970's and 80's here in the US...
April 1, 200817 yr Mostly before my time, but I loved watching the re-runs of the Prisoner on channel 4 so much that I got the DVD box set when it came out.
