I phoned SEE tickets and they said that this has now been cancelled. I knew the 3rd and 4th could be as they are the first previews. The 3rd never happened - now thwe 4th has gone. The 5th is still due to go ahead. It seems that an imjury to a female member of the cast is causing the delays.

I am totally gutted!!!!! I was really getting excited - I've just got back from town after buying a new 'top' to wear on Friday and now find that it's been cancelled. I thought I was going to see D's first appearance and now I don't know what to do! I haven't had an e-mail from Seetickets yet to say my money has been refunded so I don't want to re-book until I hear that it has!! I may just leave it until 23/4 now but will wait to hear what Allison and Wendy want to do!!!! :(

I didn't get an email - so phoned them. At least it'll give them longer to get the theatre right as well. We stand a better chance of having seats. They were discussing changing the tickets to the 5th of April if that's what you want.

I very nearly booked hotel accommodation to see this. The theatre may refund, but I wonder how people

will fare if they have incurred other expenses.

Not happy :(

Wish I could persuade my hubby to go on the 5th

Right.... I'm smiling again!! :D Seetickets rang me and the three of us are now booked for Monday 7/4 (front row)!! :D  For anyone who may be able to go on 5/4 we could have had 3 tickets in Row P (to the side) or Row T central. Looking forward meeting up with anyone who is going on 7/4..... Meg, Paul... and anyone else   :D

The theatre rang me but I don't know when to rebook. I'll see you outside the theatre but can't see the show that night as I have to be back for my father-in-law.

originally, previews started from the 3rd or 4th. Even when I booked it wasn't definate that the 3rd would go or that the 4th would stay. I was going to check the 3rd again but, I wont bother now. Just think, it gives them that much more time to make the theatre sparkle. I just feel a little cheated. I have no idea when i'll rebook.

I feel really sad for everyone, especially those who have had to make exceptional arrangements to get there on 4th and now have no idea when they can do it again. Money back for the ticket doesn't really compensate in those circumstances.

I'm also upset for Darius. It's as if nothing he ever does is allowed to go smoothly.

It'll all work for the best in the long run. It's just disheartening when you've arranged things and meeting up with people.

When I first heard, I thought "Well why doesn't the understudy go on instead?" but then I started to wonder about Sir Trevor Nunn's organic approach. He really does seem to work almost on a one to one with every actor individually. Perhaps he's been so busy perfecting the characters that he's not had time to rehearse the understudies properly.

When you compare what Darius says with what Edward Baker-Duly says, you'd think they were talking about someone different.

Edward more or less to me, says that Trevor Nunn has it all in his head and persuades him to see it the same way whereas Darius says Trevor leads him down a road and then leaves him to improvise.

The whole cast lost 3days rehearsals. This helps make it up. What a pest though. I was looking forward to a terrific weekend.

That's a shame Meg! - I thought you were going to the show on the 7th :( We were very lucky that the three of us could get together on the Monday - the rest of the week we were all busy doing other things!! There are still front row seats left for every day next week other than Thursday, if you can manage to sort something out. (I hope tickets are selling well!!?)

Look forward to seeing you at the theatre :)

Perhaps it's as well the show didn't go on with an understudy.Just think how devastating it would have been if

Darius had been off injured. There would have been people there to support the female leads (don't know

which one is injured) who would have been equally as devastated. And the other actors would not have

been at their best, interacting with an understudy. Enough pressure as it is. I don't suppose either the

company or the sponsors are happy. I just hope the jinx stays away now.

so true, and what a disasterous way to start off a production. I am still wondering how they strained themselves - is there a lot of dancing etc

Yes, the media would have made a right meal of it, sticking the boot into Darius, dragging up non MT performers supposing lack of stamina in theatre using Martine McCutcheon as an example, despite the fact D's own track record in MT is exemplary and he launched Dive In when he was physically sick with the pain of compacted wisdom teeth.
