It goes for official adds on the 22nd of April, which is a week after Oprah and Idol... surely not the wisest of choices?

I'm quite suprised I like this, the beat and tempo to the track are very good and it's a very easy track to listen to. Is hard to me to judge having heard only 3 tracks from this era but i'm not sure whether i'd have gone with this for the 2nd single. Nethertheless, I think this will do very very well.

In the two days period "Bye Bye" has been playing on radio, it's registered 146 spins and 2.201 million audience impressions. The song is officially going for adds on April 22, 2008 in all formats.

That's sensible. I think they should let TMB run it's course before Bye Bye works it's way to the top, because she's not going to have another WBT/SIO situation. :P

 

I think this is the perfect second single for the US (equally For The Record would be great) but I think the UK should get something different.

I absolutely love this! My favourite song at the moment. I love the topic, the lyrics and the production! It's one of her best songs in my opinion - one of the ones where you can truly hear and feel the emotion in her voice!

Hope this is a hit for her!

Did anyone see the performance of this on Oprah? Wasn't her best its like she cant hit the notes when she performs live anymore but the CD version are amazing. Weird!

Her performance of Bye Bye on Oprah, and watch at 3-49, the backing singer goes way too loud and over her so she turns and around and he soon shuts up :lol:

The single itself is very much like the album, which is (as I keep saying) a bit bland and meh, and typical Mariah in that it's far too breathy and quiet to be able to sing along. I like it though and am an absolute sucker for a ballad, so as soon as I know the words I'm bound to go all tingly whenever I hear and that'll be it :( Actual love.

Well one of the only tracks I didn't like at first but ADORE now is Love Story and at this point I would say it's my favourite on the album, bar none. So try and let it grow on you. ^_^

 

#15 on US iTunes which should be enough for it to make it's debut on the Hot100 next week. :P

An easy Top 50 debut for Bye Bye next week. :D It might struggle from then though. Airplay is being pretty slow at the minute, although TMB is still on the up.
