Steps - 'Buzz'

The third album from Steps was the sublime 'Buzz'. :D I'm not shy to admit that I still think this album has some excellent tracks on it, and I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again was it released this year, eight years later! I think it was less successful than the previous two albums, but certainly not on my top 50. ^_^

Stand-out tracks

*Better the Devil You Know

*Stomp

*Summer of Love

*It's the Way You Make Me Feel

*You'll Be Sorry

*Buzzz

*Here and Now

*Paradise Lost

Enya - 'The Celts'

Enya's debut album, also re-released in 1992, had limited success, however it did reach #10 in the UK. A good album, and the first of seven for Enya in my chart, charts at an average #32 for me. ^_^ Some of you may be quite surprised! :o It was used for the BBC TV series 'The Celts', so many of the tracks on it are rather short and simple. It also features 'Boadicea', which has been used by Mario Winans, the Pirates and the Fugees on their tracks as backing samples. :D

Stand-out tracks

*The Celts

*Aldebaran

*I Want Tomorrow

*March of the Celts

Kate Bush - 'Hounds of Love'

I only downloaded this fairly recently, but it's an amazing album. It's so different to anything else I've ever heard tbh, so deservedly arrives in at #31 as Kate's second entry in my top 50. ^_^ It would probably come a lot higher were I to do this list in a year or so, when I've listened to the album a lot more too...

Stand-out tracks

*Running Up That Hill

*Hounds of Love

*Cloudbusting

*Under Ice

*Jig of Life

Enya - 'Amarantine'

This 2005 release was a welcome return from Irish songstress Enya, and was a massive hit with me in my chart. :D This album has some excellent songs on it, but it also has several of Enya's weaker compositions on it too... Good album, but Enya has done better!

Stand-out tracks

*Less Than a Pearl

*Amarantine

*It's in the Rain

*Long Long Journey

*Sumiregusa

*Water Shows the Hidden Heart

Abba - 'More Gold'

The 20 songs that didn't make the GH compilation came on this 'More Gold' album. There are some pretty good tracks on here, and they certainly remind us of why Abba were so massive. For quite a while when I was younger I much preferred this to the 'Gold' album, but now I realise there is some pretty naff stuff on here.

Stand-out tracks

*The Day Before You Came

*Eagle

*The Visitors

*Our Last Summer

*Cassandra

Nelly Furtado - 'Loose'

Nelly Furtado's second abum in my chart comes in at a reasonable #28. 'Loose' has some excellent tracks, particularly the UK singles, but the others are a bit bland imo. Glad she came back with a bang though and the Timbaland effect on this album is just excellent.

*Promiscuous

*Say It Right

*In God's Hands

*All Good Things

Gwen Stefani - 'Love Angel Music Baby'

The debut solo album from Gwen certainly didn't disappoint. I was absolutely obsessed with 'What You Waiting For' for ages, and the follow-up singles were also fantastic. ^_^ Four years down the line, this album's still pretty good, if a little patchy in places.

Stand-out tracks

*What You Waiting For

*Hollaback Girl

*Cool

*Harajuku Girls

*Serious

*Danger Zone

No Doubt - 'The Singles 1992-2003'

Whenever I listen to any of the songs from this album, I always get reminded of early to mid 2004. It was 'It's My Life' that got me into the band, and then I realised that 'Don't Speak' was by this band too, and I just had to buy this album! There are several songs I absolutely love on here, and the rest I just like, so #26 is a pretty good position for it. ^_^

Stand-out tracks

*Just a Girl

*It's My Life

*Sunday Morning

*Underneath It All

*Simple Kind of Life

*Don't Speak

*Ex Girlfriend

Shakira - 'Oral Fixation II'

AMAZING album. Extremely underatted. :( Some of the songs are pure genious, like 'How Do You Do', I think the lyrical structure of the song is beautiful.  Certainly better than Laundry Service.

Lily Allen - 'Alright, Still'

Same here really. I never got into her at first, but after I fell in love with LDN I brought the album and it's half decent, esp 'Alfie'.

Aye I tend to agree with you mostly there Josh. Gwen certainly made the most of her single releases (except 'Luxurious' :manson:) and I too can't wait for Timbaland's next offering.

Amy Winehouse - 'Back to Black'

It took me a while to get into Amy properly... I wasn't and am still not too impressed by 'Rehab'; there is certainly much better stuff on the album! Aside from that though, I love loads of this album - especially 'Wake Up Alone'. Good album, and deserves all the success its had worldwide. :D

Goldfrapp - 'Seventh Tree'

I have to say I find this album merges into one long song to me somewhat, and I've listened to it loads. That is a good thing though, it's a top notch album. It was nice to see Goldfrapp come back with something different, though I won't deny I don't miss a bit of electro-bondage ala 'Strict Machine' and 'Ooh La La'! :naughty:

*A&E

Holly Valance - 'Footprints'

Oh what a good album this is! Haha I used to absolutely love this. I used to have a huge poster of her above my bed too until I was trying to listen to the neighbours next door so got a glass against the wall without realising there was water in it, causing water to fall down Ms. Valance's body and then I got a towel to dry her out without realising there was a nail behind the poster and I went straight over it and it tore. :( Such a shame. Good album though. :w00t:

*Tuck Your Shirt In

*Down Boy

*City Ain't Big Enough

*Whoop

*Naughty Girl

Sugababes - 'Change'

Quite a surprise to see this here really, as I'm not a renowned Sugababes fan really. This really is a good album though. Pop at its finest in this day and age. ^_^ My favourite is probably 'My Love Is Pink', with its excellent 90s disco feel to it and excellent rhythm. This is the first 'Babes album I've heard in full too.

Stand-out tracks

*About You Now

*Never Gonna Dance Again

*Denial

*My Love Is Pink

*Back When

*Three Spoons of Suga

Enya - 'A Day Without Rain'

The third from seven Enya albums to chart just misses out on the top 20. This album has massive highs to it, with three of my favourite ever songs on here, alas, the rest of the album doesn't really match up. The rest is good... just not as good, hence why it misses out on the top 20.

Stand-out tracks

*A Day Without Rain

*Wild Child

*Only Time

*Tempus Vernum

*Deora Ar Mo Chroi

I own so far David:
