April 1, 200817 yr Just spotted your edit TT. As suzzi on D says - just the Brits now  As Will said never say never..... :) I'm really beginning to believe if this album is successful it could happen next year. Ok now for a stupid question. Do the artists get a fee for performing at these festvals or is it just seen as good promotion?
April 1, 200817 yr I would have thought they get a fee - otherwise why do the festival goers have to pay such exorbitant prices?
April 1, 200817 yr I would have thought they get a fee - otherwise why do the festival goers have to pay such exorbitant prices? Maybe it's to cover all the expenses. Will will have to pay the band.
April 1, 200817 yr The Darkness 'offered' their services the year they won their Brit Awards but wanted a huge sum of money for doing it. Eavis told them where to get off and said that everyone got a nominal fee for appearing. I should think that's the way it works for TV too - just a fee to cover expenses - as Pearl says because they are getting 'free' promo. Edited April 1, 200817 yr by munchkin

Another one the Brits got wrong. Thanks for clearing that up munchkin. That's what I thought.
April 1, 200817 yr Really hope it's true though - and not a joke. Can't see it with it having been mentioned in the Scottish paper too & them actually quoting Michael Eavis. Plus the fact Will is well loved down there so I doubt they'd play such a cruel prank. Edited April 1, 200817 yr by truly talented

Plus the fact Will is well loved down there so I doubt they'd play such a cruel prank. Well they would if they have a really warped sense of humour. Oh well - back to down earth again. Can't say I find it funny if it is a joke.

April 1, 200817 yr Me neither but I'm still not convinced it's a cruel joke. As I said - anyone could have read Mary's post and decided to have a laugh at our expense. It was in News which is open to everyone. We'll know by tomorrow anyway.
April 1, 200817 yr Great the Jo has confirmed the article as genuine. :D :D I don't think she has TT. She has only confirmed that the poster is from the newspaper. I'm still sceptical. Edited April 1, 200817 yr by munchkin
