April 1, 200817 yr Gill has posted this up - all very cloak and dagger  Just wondering...if it is safe to come on here tonight guys? I can't believe you have all been worrying about this all day and whether its been an April fool joke! What are we like!!! Well..to put everyone's minds at rest..this is how we got confirmation and why it was disclosed today to everyone on here and not before. Firstly..we had the story in the Scottish press but it was not confirmed..so.. I went into work on Monday morning and emailed the editor at the E&E which I know and who I often speak to about all things Will to keep his profile up in the city. I told him we had a "strong" rumour but his management were saying nothing. I suggested that there may be an "exclusive" for the E&E paper if they could somehow find out what was happening. Was it the main festival or just the extravanganza event? I asked him to let me know what he found out - if anything - in confidence. Thirty minutes later I had a reply. He had sent it to his deputy with the words "can someone pick this up for a story tomorrow"...and then forwarded back to the editor with the full quote from Michael Eavis. I was amazed ME had confirmed it ahead of 1 June and when all the releases were going to national press, and before the OS could confirm presumably for this very reason. However I was not sure the editor of the E&E would run the story with that quote - as 19 might have said something to them when they refused to confirm the details. SO I made the decision to only disclose the information via Mary this morning if I saw it actually in print. After I had made sure Mary had posted up the story I confirmed to the editor that the story was up on his "unofficial" website and we were very pleased I had no idea Mr A would then be a dipstick and post some emotions up on the OS site (silly boy) that would completely get out of hand and wind everyone up all day! BUT the story being carried over to the OS has at least promoted 19 to make a statement, and the E&E have got a statement (or did they take it from the OS I wonder) and a followup piece again perhaps tomorrow which is brilliant. IF I spot it tomorrow I will cut it out and put it up. Sorry for giving everyone a stressful day. There is NO way I would post up anything I was not sure was 100% accurate guys. It was just co-incidence that the dates and the information clashed with April Fools day. Please be assured everything is Ok and I am so pleased Will is really pleased! I did tell the editor that us real fans would of course not get in to the gig and if he was sending a reporter along..and a photographer..I would probably sell quite a few pictures and I also mentioned about the new album later in the year. Hope that puts all your minds at rest on how the confirmation all came to pass. This is one of the reasons why I thought it might have been a prank - there was no sign of Will on the huge list and there wasn't supposed to be full confirmation until June, and wondered how a local paper managed to get a scoop. Now I know. Edited April 1, 200817 yr by munchkin

Playing only a handful of exclusive live festival performances this summer, including a slot on Glastonbury’s Avalon Stage, Will Young will surprise those who think of him solely as a classic pop artist. His career is headed in a cool new direction, moving away from his pop-tastic roots as this classic live acoustic set will prove. T in the Park can't wait to see him perform his new material at Balado this summer and Saturday's Pet Sound Arena line-up will be all the more eclectic for his appearance. Also from the SafeConcerts site: Will Young Popular jazz-pop solo artist Will Young will make his exciting debut at this year’s T in the Park, taking his characteristic sound in a new direction which will see him treat the Balado crowd to a cool, new acoustic live set. Will has also picked up a total of eight Brit Award nominations, including his most recent nomination for ‘Best British Single’ in 2007 for the smash hit ‘All Time Love’. April 2, 200817 yr That's why we need him on show like Jules Holland. Did you see the live show last night on BBC2 TT? I know he likes to have alternative new bands on there but - god help me - what the hell!!!! The lead singer of one of the bands looked near death and sounded like it too  Edited April 2, 200817 yr by munchkin

Jools is just the host I can't believe he chooses some of the c**p that's on. I reckon the older acts like Joe Brown etc. are possibly his choices. Adele was on again and Estelle live was ok but the rapping was totally out of wack with the song  I loved the jazzy feel of the live version - the radio edit is more poppy. James Taylor was on - he sang Sweet Baby James. Not bad live rendition of an oldie.

Didn't Jools stay at an outddor gig to watch Will & then there was the Ruby Turner duet. I doubt he has much say on who appears on the show. The producer will be anxious to give air time to those deemed 'cool & trendy'.
April 2, 200817 yr Author Thanks TT and munchkin for all the snippets and to think all this joy started with pauline603 on D posting that her friend had seen a rumour in the Scottish sun about him performing at T in the park and Glastonbury :cheer:
