I've changed jobs quite frequently recently (travel reasons and such) and the hourly rate for the job I'm doing now is over £1 an hour less than the starting wage at the job I was doing five years ago! And the job is of a fairly similar nature.

It really pisses me off to hear stories like that tbh... But difference between me and Rob is, I put the blame where it should be going.... IE, with the bosses who line their own pockets. Rob seems to want to blame the poor sod who has no clue what his or her rights actually are, not the fat-cats who exploit the (deliberate?) loopholes in the law...

Let them go to much bigger places like France and Germany where there is not the demands on the infrastructure, why are they coming here ? to fly from Warsaw to London you have to cross several countries, but they are coming all the way here, why ? because we are mugs who will pamper them and give them welfare and housing and education and hospital beds etc so they are here to take advantage of that, why they come here instead of other countries ? our mug welfare system

The standard of accommodation a lot of East European workers are prepared to put up with are way below the standards most British people would accept. But they're prepared to endure it for a few years until they've made enough money to go back home to a better standard of living.

I have a friend who works in the housing department of a local council and contrary to what the press constantly says about them taking up housing meant for British citizens, they actually live in places that no-one else would live - added to that they often get subjected to harrasment in varying degrees ranging from verbal abuse to having windows put in from neighbours just because they're not 'British'.

Well, France and Germany actually have better health and education systems..... :P :P So, I honestly dont know why they would even want to come here if that's the sole reason.....

 

And getting on a plane aint exactly the same thing as getting on a tube is it.. There aint stops along the way.... You also assume that a good many dont end up in France or Germany.. They do.

While I do not condone racial violence I can understand the frustration of locals towards those people nicking their jobs, eating their swans and so on, of course I dont condone bricking in of windows etc but there is a lot of frustration towards poles and other eastern europeans in these communities

 

If i was a craftsman or a trader or a gardener or whatever and saw my living being eroded or taken away by poles undercutting my jobs by 50% I would be pretty pissed off or an animal lover that finds eaten dead swans and so on

 

I probably sound a bit like Nick Griffin today with my posts but I really do not see Eastern European migrants as a positive step for this country

Her's a little factoid for you mate - they did a check of exactly how many Polish people actually claim benefits once.. You know what they found..? Around about 50 or 60 people out of almost 300,000 were claiming benefits... I can't even work that out as a percentage, it's fukkin' miniscule.....

1) of COURSE there was crime here before the europeans came in, but you promote these guys as ALL being highly trained, hard working , super-dudes... THEY AINT. its a FACT that theres an element of criminal scum who have also come here. in areas of high immigration certain crimes have soared, sex crimes, poaching and fighting for eg.

 

2) craig is right, the countrys frail infrastructure is straining hard under the sudden influx from europe. schools where i work are now having to divert funds from rescources to employ translators, they have 20 languages spoken in their scummy little school now. we KNOW that some local authorities are struggling to cope with housing, we KNOW hospitals are being drained by the sudden influx, often by women coming here to have free babies! if theyve paid nowt in, they should get nowt out. the countrys population is too high.

 

3) trained in poland?... SO WHAT? i KNOW that many eastern europeans that are trading as skilled technicians have NOT the same level of training that our lads HAVE to have to opporate. try talking to some tradesmen, HONEST tradesmen. the red tape and directives heaped upon our lads is immense.

 

4) you watch too much tv, you have a very jaudiced oppinion of british workmen if you believe WE are all like the scallies on rogue traders. that lot make up just a fraction of what is a considerable army of highly skilled , highly profficient, workmen.

gangmasters do the same thing, housing their workers in cheap accomodation..

 

could these workers afford a mortgage?.... no

 

could these workers alone pay rent?... with difficulty

 

do these workers live cheaply in subsidised (by their employers) accomodation?...yes.
