There's nothing wrong with a good tune.

couldnt agree more! thats exactly what pop music should be about, liking what is in your opinion a 'good tune' (as long as it wasnt produced by pete waterman! )

i agree with your sentiments about todays guitar bands, indie is a term used, but what does that really mean today

it means nothing bri.... as these groups arnt signed to an 'independant' record label. otherwise its just good old fashioned british pop music! i call it 'mod' (as its modernist and of the time) as i think it best fits guitar based pop ever since the 60's first coined the phrase.

All I have managed so far is a mini album so this will have to do! Will edit if I can add to this:

So Alive - Ryan Adams So early 80s it is untrue.

You Want the Candy - The Raveonettes This would fit right in beside The Primitives and The Shop Assistants if it had been released in 1986

Munich - Editors The first of two Joy Division wannabes

Heinrich Maneuver - Interpol And here are the others

Valentine - Delays More from the early 80s

When You Were Young - The Killers If you don't like Springsteen then you don't like this
