pushing the boat back abit further, for me 1970 was an interesting year with several one hit wonders producing some splendid singles.

steam - na na hey hey kiss him goodbye odd little bubblegum track peaked at #13 the original to the awful cover by bananarama.

OMG... THE LEAD LOOKS LIKE SOMEONE OFF THE SEX OFFENDER REGISTER!

rare bird - sympathy superb blues vocals, a minor hit and another ohw.

mr bloe - groovin with mr bloe imho a classic.

ides of march - vehicle my fourth one hit wonder, ive featured this in the past, great bit of jazz pop/rock...

cat stevens - lady d'arbanville imho his last great track

chicago - 25 or 6 to 4 another jazz/pop/rock track and easily their best.

jethro tull - the witches promise love tulls sound, and lyrics 'lend me your ear while i call you a fool'...lol.. great.

fleetwood mac - the green manalishi (with a two pronged crown) fm at their very best imho, with pete green, heavily drugs influenced track and it shows!

shocking blue - venus another fantastic track slaughtered by them banana bints <_<

rada krishna temple - govinda  ... i like it!!!

jimi hendrix experience - voodoo chile utter class, released after his sudden death.. an all time great track.

d b m t - mr president minus dave dee , dozy, beaky mick and tiches last hit, overlooked and a good un!

bonus track

hollies - gasoline alley bred possibly our best harmony group, they dont disappoint on this track!

just missing out...

johnny johnson and the bandwaggon - gimmie just a little more time

stevie wonder - signed sealed delivered im yours

marmalade - rainbow

Now that's a CD I'd buy (well, if it had a few more tracks on it!)

What is it with Bananrama murdering tracks from 1970? Although, to be pedantic, the Steam single was released in October 1969, and Shocking Blue in December 1969! Singles were aloud to find their own way into the charts in those days without massive hype; so neither made until January 1970.

EXACTLY!... they were released then climbed the chart, or not, on the merit of the track itself and not as a result of having it be force fed to us.

a much better system.
