Thanks meg. I already had it and didnt realise. I really dont like that interview and makes me think what I said before, they will pick out what they want to and therefore I fear for the reviews. Me thinks the writer is a fan of someone else!!!

oh dear, perhaps I won't pop out to get this -

had to get it, wish they would lose the PI photos - another begrudging interview, its like pulling teeth, they acknowledge his success but the asides are so bitter. It really did feel like jealousy toh - is it that difficult to do an interview by asking questions and getting the answers, without this need for the opinion of the interviewer to keep coming into play? I can't say I notice it with other people being interviewed -

I haven't got the magazine myself yet but have just read the article on Rachel's site....... and.....

I don't believe that any woman once having met Darius could not be totally 'besotted' by him!!!! She admits that he is extremely good looking, has exceptional eye lashes and is very talented, etc, etc, but seems to totally bored with his intelligence!!

I admit Darius can waffle and be evasive if he wants to - he makes me annoyed sometimes when he doesn't answer one of my questions directly and he also makes me chuckle when I know he is being purposely evasive!! :D As you say, Preston, I too think that the interviewer could not be totally positive about Darius as she has 'loyalties' towards someone else!!! :D

I expect the reviews on GWTW to be a total mix - depending on the bias of the critics/reviewers, and this will be no different for any new show/performer!!

She's interviewing the lead in one of the few brand new musicals to grace the West End stage in years and filters out or dismisses as a big yawn anything relevant to that, instead going with references to PI, his eyelashes, his girlfriend and is he feeling broody, does he feel like saying na na na na to those who sneered at him in the PI days?

sums up the intelligence of the interviewer, read for going to sleep - I don't really have the intelligence to understand meaningful answers or a very long attention span, as for some of the questions, well BT says it all. I expect Darius would have liked her to take on board some facts about GWTW, considering that was the whole point of the interivew..not whether he is broody or other juvinile clap trap.

perhaps she was trying to do a Scarlett, proclaiming loudly that she definately wasnt falling for his charms..although she seemed to have been taking note of his eyelashes etc quite closely. she obviously had to keep reminding herself and us why she wasnt smitten.. it doesnt make bad reading apart from her asides,The interview with Duncan from Blue by some one else doesnt have any aside personal commnets, just the questions and answers he gave, and that was a pointless interview IMO.

It reads to me as if they were at cross purposes. He was giving up his time to talk about GWTW and the facts in his life pertinent to that

She, however, seemed to think he was there to talk about himself and his personal life.

So we end up with her asking fluffy questions and Darius desperately trying not to refuse to answer and so going around the houses to try to make a connection to steer the interview back on to GWTW. He's too darn polite.

Very well put BT  ....... especially the bit about D being 'too darn polite'!!! :) It seems to me that some interviewers just don't want to help boost his career in any way at all!!!

Funnily enough PIP I thought exactly the same about the interview with Duncan. Completely fine. She had an axe to grind Im sure.

I wonder if the reporters sent out to do these kind of interviews are at the junior end of the spectrum.

It seened to me as if she was overwhelmed by his intelligence and communication skills, so resorted

to snide comments.

I thought that exactly, I wonder if she even knew anything about GWTW, and therefore didnt have any intelligent questions concerning it, or the musical production, to ask!

I'm sure even a student reporter or the kids from Newsround could have written some general questions he/she could put to anyone in a show, film, TV programme, even if he/she wasn't familiar with the show at all.

Of course, we may be doing her a slight injustice because she may have had some in mind but had a mental block when she met Darius. That's happened to most of us, hasn't it?.

Still I'd think most professional reporters would have done some research and had some notes.

It gives a negative twist to something she has never experienced. It really annoys me. That's an understatement as I hate to be rude or offensive. Read between the lines, she thinks he's good but wont admit to anything as she thinks the negativity is what the readers want to read. I remember them doing a bit of a hatchet job on Will Young as well - totally uncalled for.

I hope they find a few sharp spikes if they keep reporting like this. She hasn't even see it and already has an opinion on it. I'd think people were daft to form an opinion even after seeing an early preview - it changes and so can opinions if you have an opern mind.

"Darius cares very much indeed about almost everything."

She may have meant it as a dismissive aside. I however, think it's a fine testament to him and sums up much of what I admire about Darius.
