Queen bee. There was a bee keeper on television yesterday saying that the bee population is in decline due to a disease which is wiping out the colonies. Sue

I had a nasty experience with a bee as a child Meg. One went down my wellington boot and I couldn't get it out. I started to panic and it stung me. I was only young but I can still remember it! Been a bit wary of bees and wasps every since. Sue
I can understand that. My Mum is allergic to wasp stings. You can see red lines work their way up from the sting.
Red ants. And Black ants. Hate them all since our kitchen was invaded a year or two back.

Ah, but I had the grenades ! Took weeks to get rid, odd ones kept popping up. All food had to be sealed in plastic bags, then stored in

other rooms.

Bramley, grANADES MAKE FAR MORE ODF A MESS THAN ANTS - EVEN WITH MACHINE GUNS. dO YOU STILL HAVE A HOUSE? Whoops. Guess who hit the caps button again.

Tarantulas. And no-one can convince me they are furry, friendly creatures.........have you seen how fast they run ?

They try to kid you to hold one in the zoos. I'd sooner hold dynamite !

Thw ones like the Mexican red kneed make good pets but you have to handle them gently as they are quite delicate.

And they bite!

They are not poisonous to humans (especially if you boil them long enough) but they are venomous, and their bite can cause

a lot of pain.

Most tarantulas are as poisness as a bumble bee. But not after they're boiled - poor things.
The google ads have just come up with a book called 'A World Without Bees'. Big Brother is watching us again.

U AND V..............difficult ones.

U.......Underwing moths e.g. the large yellow underwing moth. ( the underwing is the back pair of wings)

V.........Vapourer moth.

I don't hate moths, but I find them unpleasnt when they land on you, with their sticky feet, especially the big, furry ones.

w just has to be woodlice. I used to hate turning over a branch on the forest floor and there'd be hundreds of them running everywhere. The shivers are going down my back just thinking about it.

Woodlice are good Mums, though (the female ones, that is). They carry the eggs in their brood pouches on their undersides,

and the young live in the pouches for quite a while.

Next time I see one, I'll try to remember that. How do I tell if it's female without picking it up?
look closly. I love pill woodlice and millipedes. I quite like woodlice anyway. I think they are beautiful creatures. mimi dinasaurs without the fangs.
I like centipedes and millipedes. Your turn for 'x' .........stop changing the subject.
