Double whammy success tonight Pete! The apple pie I made last night was too late to eat last night so we had it for dessert tonight with ice-cream. That was after my superb minced steak & onion pie, mash and green beans & gravy tonight. My pastry was totally home-made (it just keeps getting better with every pie!) I'm seriously considering packing my job in and going for a job in a bakery! I'd forgotten how enjoyable pastry-making was!

Seriously Biggie - and I'm not bragging - it was absolutely marvellous. I really do think I made a mistake in not taking an interest in Domestic Science at school! I really wish I worked in food now! And I just love making pastry!

I was required to take a similar class to your Domestic Science course in junior high school...it came in handy, learning the basics of sewing and cooking....I prefered the cooking bit more than the sewing....

 

 

I've been known, from time to time, to make a pretty good banana nut bread I found in a cookbook. While it's still a bit warm, I'll take a slice and smear it liberally with butter.....mmmmmmmmmmmm, I'm making my mouth water just thinking about it..... :w00t:

same here, love fresh apples but cooked ones are just plain horrid
