thanks BT, thats a good article in the Specator, and I wasnt deluded, he saw the same show I saw, ok, not perfect to him - I must say I could miss out a couple of songs but it didnt spoil it for me at all. and everyone seemed to enjoy it a lot

it is so very odd that poeple seeing this show now are starting to wonder what the critics are on about!

someone on .net posted about the film, interesting - events repeating themselves. lets hope so!

When you read about the film, it was an absolute nightmare before, during and after filming. Even after the premiere there was a lot of hostility.
I noticed the spectator critic didnt like Harper Ragen - which the critcs who slated GWTW liked..goes to show its just personal taste, or does it say something about those critics attitudes.
It means that I'll never take notice of another critic ever again. Which is a shame for the ones who do their jobs well.

I never had taken notice of critics in all the shows I have seen, I decide for myself but in this case it is so unfair that they are savaging something like a pack of hounds and it is uncalled for. I loved this show and a lot of other people would also given the chance and perhaps it is time for critics to be made redundant. A site not far from here!!! is revelling in it and taking what they say as gospel.!!

I know, if you to want to beleive something you will as it goes - some even taking whingers as gospel too - seeing as their motto "facts are not our forte" is emblazened at the top of their site

and they admit they saw the very first preview and admit they left at the interval - which they seem to do a lot as they are not serious critics

Schadenfreude!

Well I hope they note that even David Aaronovitch on Newsnight Review who hated almost everything actually says That

Darius is "Clark Gable" singing and agrees that Darius has a very good singing voice and accent............that's some compliment, about the only ones which pass his lips.

Whatever way anyone twists the first night reviews, other than by omitting the positive comments about him as BS in the SM did, Darius is clearly the star of the production. Natasha Yvette Williams also gets great notices. Jill is shockingly and undeservedly given very mixed reviews.

Trying to paint the reviews differently doesn't work, each critic knows what he/she thought and most were surprised by how great Darius was.

Regarding the so called critics, I notice that even when they are running down the show they dont actually mention Trevor nunn.
I think it was Aaronovitch who did. Didn't he more or less say that Sir Trevor was just indulging himself on this vanity project and therefore took it forward although he knew the material was weak, thinking that with a superb creative team and a fine cast he could make it into a great show.

Well that was another fantastic show....different again!

Jill was fantastic....I've not seen her cry before....even kept the hanky at the end.

Darius was spot on.

I don't know how they can keep the emotions going every night...I'm so drained watching....it's fantastic.

...can't wait for the next time.

it was good to see you BT....hope the fight (oops meant flight  ) was good and you have a lovely time.

Another performance that left you wanting more. A very good show. Jill was great. Darius still commands the stage. I'm seeeing Spam off this pm - otherwise we just may find her sitting in the stalls watching when she should be flying away on holiday. It was good to see BT and her sister too.
