Fight?.... what have I missed here. Just going back to read again.

It had changed again on Tuesday. We still haven't seen the same twice. It'll change even more from tomorrow - the cut down version will start then. Those who go will have to let us know what;s gone. We know that Jill's song 'This Time' has been cut, which is a shame as it was really funnly watching Darius tery and propose to her as she fell down.

oh, that did go on a bit too liong..but I loved Darius trying to get her to sit down..I hope there isnt any less Darius!! scarlett has plenty they can snip into a little..

Agree pip scarlett does have plentythey can snip into and she wont then be so exhausted but not D please. I was a bit disappointed when I didnt see the dance bit of D from the documentary.

It worked better how it is now for that bit. Darius still does a little dancing.

The only trouble with them cutting that song of Scarletts is Darius wont be on stage as long.

 

She said he goes straight into the proposal.

 

I really think they should leave all the Scarlett and Rhett bits and drop some others......after all those are the bits people are going to see

I agree, those scenes are the one people mention as being better - Trevor should have asked us to sit and do the editing..

I could lose the second 'Very Best People' easily. I'd also quite like the scene when they come to try and buy Tara to go.

As for the cast, I pity them! Darius (bless) has virtually nothing to do. I can't remember him actually singing a song at all in Act 1! another man who fell asleep or wasnt there..Its under" Nunns windblows." what a sanctimonious lot of ....... they are on that site. One who went had to admit it was a full house and said well its only tourists not real theatregoers like us.

you mean broadways forum - lol yes a lot of yong men who seem to think they are above your average theatre goer, made me laugh, the comments about the full house but theatre goers not knowing anything, - who do they think goes to these shows! once you start browsing the other thrreads you quickly realise these people like some rather awful stuff and seem to like pulling everything else apart anyway.

It's difficult for them to judge with ear plugs and blind folds on. They must be very young or else they'd realise what idiots they make themselves look.

There's a LOT of changes to the show. The ones I object to are the singing of 'Once Upon A Time' being only half as long as before when Bonnie dies and them cutting out the bit where he sits on mammy's knee and sings 'I'm your Man'.

 

The secong 'All the best People' has gone - which I think is good. A lot of the narration has gone. Part of Scarlett getting the green dress from the curtains. She only walks through the wounded twice instead of three times. She no longer calls for anyone but Mother when she's walking home in the mist after Melanie dies. The horse dies earlier and they only pull tghe cart around the stage twice - thank goodness. Melanie's baby is born off stage - no laughing anymore. and she doesn't sing on her deathbed anymore. There are no seats for the people waiting for her to die. In the first half, Ashley isn't standing on a raft chopping wood - he just walks on stage with a basket with a piece of log in it and carrying an axe. She no longer 'fingers a rose bowl with cherubs' - just throws it. Melanie runs straight to Ashley when he's coming home after the war instead of running around the audience first. And the 'single room' bit is shorter.

 

You already know the second 'Wings' and 'This Time' have gone. I know there's more but i can't remember at the moment.

 

It does work very well with the exception of the 'Once Upon a Time'bit. That's not a bit you can or should rush through.

 

The sound was a bit off tonight - the orchestra were in danger of drowning out the singers a t imes. A few tikmes, characters said things you couldn't hear over the music. Apart from that, it was an excellant show.

 

Again, I heard nothing but praise. I preceded an American couple down the escalator and over hearfd them agreeing that they must have imported the cast from America as the accents were so good. I put them right and let them know that it was just hard work and talent that got the accents right. They were really impressed with the whole thing.

They were impressed with the whole show and thought it was done extremely well.

 

Last time I saw this, the flag really took off when it was litand there was a bit of concern . This time it absolutly refused to even flicker. The people behind me and the American couple were impressed by the burning of Atlanta though.
