Perhaps it's a case of ears not attuned to the accent.

I think the "Darius is impersonating Clark Gable" accusation comes from those who have seen the film or parts of it and have NOT read the book and so don't realise that many of Clark's expressions are described in the book, which Darius is attempting to play authentically. One person was miffed they'd missed out the line " Has the war started?". Only problem is it's a line which came straight from Hollywood not from Margaret Mitchell's pen.

Is anyone else feeling worried that the publicity (T,V. interviews, newspaper articles, etc) seems to be coming from

Darius. I haven't seen or read anything from Jill Paice, and only one article from Trevor. Obviously this is because

D is the more articulate and personable of the cast. Which is fine if the show becomes a huge success. But if,God

forbid, the show flops, then it will be Darius who will be remembered in association with the show, whilst Jill and

the others will slip quietly away to pastures new.

Jill is onstage for nearly the whole production. She probably needs to rest her voice during the day. There was either a Times or Sunday Times interview with Jill.

Maybe later Edward Baker-Duly whose face is also known from TV will take on some of the promo. Right now Darius is probably the best person to say what has to be said in the short TV interviews. He doesn't let the interviewers side track him from his purpose.

The moment his casting was announced the internet was full of posts trying to undermine him. If the show is not a complete triumph, the same people will try to capitalise on it to try to finish him off. That's not new. They've done it since Popstars.

The first review is one person's opinion - one who objects to Pop Idol by the sound of it. The first half song didn't suit Darius but, he handled it well and was OK - in the rest, he was great and sounded fantastic. That was my opinion and equally valid.

The second is a worry one. I think that one will give it a fair chance when he's seen the updated version.

I dont think so - jill paice was in woman in white for ALW and this didnt do well on broadway or that well here remembering that she is an american actress but she has recently come out of Curtains on broadway so it hasnt affected her career. However she wouldnt be that well known here the same as D wouldnt be that well known in america for doing promotion.Trevor on the other hand must be far too busy trying to sort out the cutting back of the finishing time etc.

Trevor. Darius just has to join us and wait and see what happens. Except that he'll know by now.

just read this on gwtw facebook

Tuesday night was cancelled in order that some tweaking could be done. As a result todays matinee ran 3hrs 35 mins which included a 20 min interval, much better. This version is truer to the book than the film was and yes, all three children are mentioned and seen. I thought all the cast did their best with an outstanding performance from Darius Danesh, I was close enough to see him shed real tears in one scene near the end. I found the ensemble music very moving but I'm afraid the duets were lost on me and quite unmemorable. Good set design and all went smoothly, apart from one hiccup with a truck that wouldn't shift and the costumes fitted perfectly. My advice, cut some songs.

Thanks, pip. I agree, they should cut some of Scarlett's songs or else I don't think she'll manage a year of 8 shows a week. None of Darius' though.

It is still too long. 3hrs 35 still makes it end at well gone 11o'clock for the evening shows, so trains will still be a problem. Mondays would be OK though.

It's not that it would feel too long, it flies by but, getting home becomes far more difficult.

I don't know if i can bear to watch Darius cry.( alright I know he's acting but still..) The video for Live Twice used to get me every time not to mention that really sad look in Incredible.
But we knew why in that. The book made me cry. Only the women's song when the list of dead and injured came did in the show.

Another review of the preview on WOS - Darius - very sexy and a beautiful voice.

I was just thinking - the time has gone back to what it was on Monday 7th April. I hope the cuts are better this time. It spoiled the beginning of the 2nd half last time. It does mean that if I run and i'm lucky, I can be home by 1am. I really think they'll lose less audience by changing it to a 7pm start than they will by leaving it where it is and giving people so much difficulty getting home.

The length of the show doesn't worry me as such as I found the time flew by.

thank god we are giong ot a matinee, there are 2 positve reviews, one saying they will post details late on WOS !

I am really curious now as to how they are following the book..shame Melanie comes off not so good in the review I have read - I liked her in the book,

She's my next to one favorite character in the book. It's just not like Melanie in the show. I'll leave you to guess my fave character. Melanie had me in tears in the book.

It's good to know I'm not alone in doing this every time he gets on a stage

"darius had wonderful presence. i was drawn to him wherever he went,"

People who didn't like him were admitting he had fabulous screen presence at the 10th anniversary.
