Posted April 6, 200817 yr Cabinet Minister Hazel Blears provoked a new race row yesterday by calling for an end to ethnic minority-dominated ghettos. She said that urban “no-go areas” for whites should no longer be tolerated. But the Communities Secretary outraged critics who blame Labour-spearheaded multi-culturalism for the growth of ethnic ghettos. Her speech suggests a Government rift over how to tackle racial and religious division. Ms Blears, speaking to the Left-wing Fabian Society, warned that Britain was facing “social apartheid” – but did not explicitly criticise members of any ethnic community for creating no-go ghettos. Do you feel welcome in your home town or city? Should Britain be segregated? Do you think we are headed towards 'social apartheid'? Source : Sunday Express
April 6, 200817 yr Its no big deal to me Are Brits any different when they go and live in Costa Del Sol ? no, they form communities of ex pats and live and mix among their own so why should it be any different from say Brixton for blacks, Southall for Asians, Golders Green for Jews and so on ? it is human nature to live and mix among your own And anyone who has been to Melbourne would know that Lygon St Italian quarter is a great asset to the city as is Kuala Lumpur's Chinatown and so on
