not sure that would work. if it was legal and the government taxed it then illegal plants would still be grown and sold cheaper on the black market. just look at the trade in ciggys brought back from the continent. i myself find it cheaper by a mile to travel to france 3 times a year for red wine..

But surely buying it on the black market wouldn't come with the security of knowing where the stuff has come from, as well as what's actually in it? I know if I was going to buy some, I'd like it being produced by a company name I can trust, and I'd like to know that I'm getting quality goods. Price really shouldn't be an issue when it comes to stuff you're putting in to your body.

There’s a difference between selling cigarettes brought back from another country, and making your own cigarettes and selling them. If it's all packaged and produced by a trusted company, then yeah, people will pay less for it if it’s being offered. But if it's something that’s coming from an unknown source, then I don't really know who in their right mind would buy it, even if it were cheap.

money is money and business is business, if someone can supply decent gear cheaper then the government then they will. its just as well that we cant grow tobacco here or people would and produce cheap ciggys.

But people happily buy it today, and they don't know how its cultivated or where its from, so if it were legalised, and a black market still operated, people would still buy it cause it will be cheaper than the legally produced stuff as the government would tax it to the hilt to try and grab more cash. Thats what nu-labour do. As for the quality of any future black market stuff, no difference to todays is it.
