Posted April 9, 200817 yr Not sure if you know, but Darius is going to be on Paul O'Grady today at 5pm
April 9, 200817 yr Thanks, val4jadan, for the timely reminder. I like that it's channel 4. If my video cracks up, I can watch him again on C4 +1 on freeview.
April 9, 200817 yr Personally I normally need reminders to lead me to my reminders, although I'm usually good at carrying a huge database of facts and figures concerning Darius in my head for years..
April 9, 200817 yr Great interview. I was worried when they lined up for the semaphore. There didn't seem to be a big enough gap for D's arms plus flags but it was OK.
April 9, 200817 yr I thought he sold it really well and someone else on another site said he sold it really well and they are now going. Thought he did the southern accent well and it was quite a long interview.
April 9, 200817 yr Author He was quite charming. Made me remember why he was my second favourite on PI. He's going to do really well as Rhett Butler and I can honestly see him ending up a Hollywood superstar.
April 9, 200817 yr I laughed out loud a few times during that interview ' I loved Anne Reid's story about her son and his friend and D's about Bonnie and Gandalf.
April 9, 200817 yr tbh I don't hear any americanisation in Darius's normal cultured Scots accent and I am a Scot from the other side of the river from him. I was really surprised that the Telegraph interviewer spoke of his "deep buttery posh-Scots accent, blurred at the edges by an LA drawl." On today's show he did a bit of Rhett's Southern drawl because Paul specifically asked him about it, but then went straight back to his natural accent. Edited April 9, 200817 yr by Baytree
April 9, 200817 yr doesnt hurt when you are playing an American. I missed it!! wanted to hear his southern drawl so bad!
April 9, 200817 yr He didn't do a quote from the show this time. He just went on with the next bit of conversation in Rhett's accent.
April 10, 200817 yr I'm going to divorce my husband. Either that or buy a machete. I was out so didn't see the program. I didn't want to show a lack of trust in my husband so I didn't set the reminder. He is still alive and in one peice. I may not feed him for a week. He didn't change the channel. I have 3hrs of UK Drama. No Paul O'Grady at all. I'd just got to the stage where I could sit down and watch. I can't say what I was thinking when I played the tape. If I'd done that with one of his programmes he'd have been livid. I thought we had such a good relationship - no more. Edited April 10, 200817 yr by megham
April 10, 200817 yr Oh dear, I'm so sorry. It's one of the worst things ever to really, really want to see something , think you've got it, clear some'me'time and ......Eh! Deflation. I hope someone can get it to Rachel soon. Ive got it on video but I have no way of dubbing it onto another tape nor magicking it on to the computer. I'm glad that Paul asked him if he'd given up making albums and then Darius was able to say he hadn't and he'd been flying back to LA to go on.............. Paul cut in at that point but at least people have now heard him saying it is still his intention. To be Rhett he's taken to smoking cigars - I hope on stage only. He said he didn't think his parents would like it.
April 10, 200817 yr I am trying to be less dependant on taping - in days gone by I would have done anything to tape the show, still I get mocked for screaming and being tearful about someone recording over a Darius program I had recorded..only to discover I was replaying the wrong tape, it has never been forgotten in our house. I am desperately rechecking the 4ondemand but it seems yesterdays show still isnt up there!!!
April 10, 200817 yr I missed it too  I have tried to download 4 on demand, but I keep getting an error message about unable to register something  The really annoying thing is I was free to watch it yesterday and just plain forgot to, yet again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have no idea how I missed val4jadan's reminder here either, as i was on the forum several times :(
