Thank god we'll actually get to hear it ^_^
Who cares about her commercial success anymore anyway? :P The album itself is good, we can tell it already, I don't actually care whether she is going to sell 50 or 100 copies in the UK of it. And besides, she'll still have what to spread on a bread because of Russian sales / gigs revenue, ha-ha!

It's official. Starlight + album being released in the UK

*pinch me, i must be dreaming*

Starlight is going to be released on the 30th of May, followed by the Sophie's long awaited fourth album, Make A Scene, on the 6th of June. Here is what her official website says:

We're very pleased to announce that Sophie will release her new single ‘Starlight' on 30th May, followed by her new album ‘Make A Scene’ on 6th June.

‘Starlight’ is a perfect chilled dance anthem that is instantly catchy with a soft but edgy beat. It is a track that can easily take you from sun lounger by day to nightclub by evening and is the perfect summer anthem.

Sophie’s new album ‘Make A Scene’ is an exciting and energetic pop juggernaut on which Sophie was heavily involved with all parts, including co-writing much of it and working with an in-demand team of writers and producers that includes Freemasons, Greg Kurstin, Calvin Harris, Cathy Dennis, Metronomy, Hannah Robinson, Richard X and Armin Van Buuren.

The countdown starts here…

Although, nothing is stated about which label she is on currently. U-Music Russia handled the release of TTLF previously, and they are releasing Make A Scene in Russia. But we're not sure if she is still with Polydor Records. Sophie may have been shifted on to some other label under Universal who might handle this release in the UK. Details yet to come...

Peter PopJustice Robinson made Starlight the song of the day and called it "A nice song". His exact words were as follows:

It is so much easier being a Sophie Ellis-Bextor fan once you accept that she is never ever going to have another hit single.

Once you learn to live with that fact, and once you are able to leave behind questions like 'will Radio 1 play this?' (NO AND NEITHER WILL RADIO 2), 'will she promote it properly?' (SHE'LL DO HER BEST BUT NOBODY'S REALLY INTERESTED) and 'will it get into the Top 10?' (NO), all you are left with is one question: 'is the song any good?'.

And the answer here is 'not as good as some of her other songs but generally yes it is a really enjoyable listen and her voice is rather nice as per usual'.

Peter is probably annoyed with all the delays, but lets not ignore the fact that the song is The Song Of The Day. Here's hoping that the song gets good reviews from everyone. Buy the single or download from iTunes on 30th of May. Also, you can import the album from Russia after the 18th of April, if you want.

Album sampler! :w00t: Clicky! (Sorry if you can actually speak Russian, I assume most can't and may be interested in reading it. :P)

1. Revolution

2. Bittersweet

3. Off & On

4. Heartbreak (Make Me A Dancer)

5. Not Giving Up On Love

6. Can't Fight This Feeling

7. Starlight

8. Undertouch

9. Make A Scene

10. Magic

11. Dial My Number

12. Homewrecker

13. Synchronised

14. Cut Straight To The Heart

That sounds like new versions of 'Not Giving Up On Love' and 'Can't Fight This Feeling'! :o

'Undertouch' sounds very good, quite similar to 'Revolution', but without the grating vocals.

'Make a Scene' sounds a bit similar to her older material, which isn't a bad thing. :D

'Homewrecker' sounds brilliant! Single potential, but I think at this point we should be glad we're actually getting a second.

Overall it sounds fantastic and the final album will be a must-listen! :D

 Thanks Theo, the album sounds really good. Worth the wait, almost
Worth the wait, almost

LOL!

- NGUOL and JCFTF are exactly the same, they are not new versions. (thankfully)

- Under Your Touch sounds so good!!! OMG!!!!!!! It sounded so incredibly blend live because you couldn't hear the awesome music behind it!!

- Make a Scene is so awkwardly weird but so cool... I like it mucho!

- I Still Believe In Magic sounds sweet, kind of reminds me of Starlight. Nice sound, not too special though

- Dial My Number sounds nice! Have to hear it in full

- We have to hear more from Homewrecker, there is no chorus in this preview, it sounds good though.

- Synchronized sounds like the hidden gem on the album! Her voice is so beautiful.

- Cut Straight to the Heart Of Me sounds like a weird album closer, but I love the bleeps in the song.

The only song that disappoints me is Revolution (but I knew that..), I don't understand why it's the first one on the album.

BTW THEO. you posted a great quality cover picture! Looks much better.

Just read she's releasing this album on her own label. I hope she kicks ass. This album actually sounds like it can be a fantastic big seller, if only more people cared...

Make a Scene sounds btw, like it should be the first song on the album.

Thats nothing, almost every track on J-Lo's new album is a leaked song from 2 years ago

Doesn't make it any less a desireable album :D

Looking at the sample, I realised that I've already heard half the songs there.

I knew 9 out of 14 songs here. Doesn't make them worse.

This is the funniest release I have probably ever known. Me, as a proud "China Tart", am going to buy it next week!

I love the songs I haven't heard, especially 'Homewrecker' and 'Cut Straight To the Heart'.

Sophie Ellis-Bextor has announced that she has set up her own record label.

The singer, who is gearing up for the release of her long-delayed fourth album Make A Scene, said that she decided to release the LP independently after her label repeatedly shelved the project.

"Make A Scene is finally making its way into the third dimension," she told WOTYOUGOT. "It's been recorded for a little while now, but I left my old label and I've set up my own label. I'm doing this by myself, which is exciting!"

The 'Not Giving Up On Love' star also revealed that the LP will be out in Russia on April 18, six weeks ahead of its UK release.

Discussing whether she feared her UK fans would illegally download the record, she insisted: "To be perfectly honest, what we've achieved... getting the album to fruition is a big achievement, and I'm just thrilled it's going to be out there.

"I don't feel too strongly about how they're getting hold of it, I'm just glad the fans will get to hear it."

So I read that as her promoting us hearing it illegaly if we wish to hear the album!
