April 18, 200817 yr Author I remember hearing an interview with the manager of Sweet as they were going down the dumper and he said they should have been doing stuff like Queen and they would have stayed popular. what? he advocated sweet becoming a second rate queen tribute act?... ironically sweet were far more influencial then queen... again proving my point.
April 19, 200817 yr what? he advocated sweet becoming a second rate queen tribute act?... ironically sweet were far more influencial then queen... again proving my point. Yep he sure did. This was around the time Love is Like Oxygen was a hit.
April 25, 200817 yr Queen are one of my fave groups ever up there with Led Zepp, Skynyrd, Whitesnake, Deep Purple, the Paul Dianno Iron Maiden and so on They bought out some awful $h!te towards the end like "Hot Space" and "The Works" and albums like that but their early stuff was brilliant, in the early days they were as hard rock as you can get with stuff like "Liar" "Death On Two Legs" "Tie Your Mother Down" and that kinda stuff those 3 are my fave Queen records
April 25, 200817 yr Author , in the early days they were as hard rock as you can get with stuff like "Liar" "Death On Two Legs" "Tie Your Mother Down" true... but somehow queen were never accepted into the rock world, its as if queen music was its own genre.
April 30, 200817 yr I've always had a dislike for Queen. There are a couple of songs I don't mind but I tend to find them overrated drivel... And because I'm not old enough, there's something I kind of want to know? In their heyday did many acts copy them? Or atleast acts you could tell were influenced by them? Only people say you can tell who the best acts are as they're the ones who's sound influenece so many generations and everyone wants to be them.... But I've never really heard anyone be compared to Queen. Infact Scissor Sisters are about the only act I can think of, and that's purely do with their flamboyancy, nothing to do with their music. Muse have been compared to Queen in terms of pomp and pretentiousness.... But they somehow manage to not sound utterly ludicrous and pull it back from the edge just before going over the cliff into dribbly c**k Rock city....
May 1, 200817 yr No, I've never liked them either. Load of overrated tosh! The early singles were OK though.
