Nothing interesting - just a bolognese. I do like it to cook for at least 4hrs, very slowly, to let the herbs and spices seep right through.

Gosh that's a long time...always thought Sally over did it at 1 hour.

I think we'll be chicken tonight....must pop out to buy one....it may help :)

They do cook better when you actually put them in the oven. Maybe Sainsburys will do it for you.
I got a present of a slow cooker and I still haven't used it. I haven't a clue what to cook in it.
Anything really. If you ge a silverside joint or something like brisket and roll it or pork chops or suces - anything. The slow cooking makes them so tender and lets the taste really develope. Try briskett rolled with mustard - great.
One of the big advantages is that you set it up before you leave home in the morning and the food is waiting for you when you come back at night. Casseroles and stews are great - all the veg already done. Read your instructions though, BT.
The South before, during and aftyer the civil war. Why is it so long? It covers a lot of things and 12 years.
I know one thing - I cant tell what on earth the slaves are saying...

Read it out loud exactly as it's written.

It took me alittle while to get into the book. Funnily enough, as soon as Rhett appeared, my interest increased.

I wonder if Trevor has read the book? there is a lot they can cut out of this book... and funny how they are reading les Misrebles in it, dont know how far I have got to go,

I will be curious to see what they leave in and leave out, I cant see how they can follow the book rather than the film - funnily enough all the bits I am recalling that stand out as important in the book I recall from the film now. there are a lot of characters they could cull immediately imo. it isnt the best written book I have read TBO - "I wont think about that now though"..LOL

In the film's scene where Rhett brings the wounded Ashley back, I'm pretty sure Melanie is reading David Copperfield by Dickens because the first words she reads are "I am born", the first chapter heading. I wonder when that book was written.

There was another part of the book when they were praising Dickens - but I can't remember where.

Trevor would have certainly read the book he was basing a play on.

I'm sure I heard Darius say that he had read the book too. He hasn't done many interviews and still I can't recall which one it was. Was it during today's GMTV?
I heard that too, but I'm also sure he's said on TV that he read the book in preparation for the role. It's what i would expect from him. he went as far as reading Damon Runyon's stories before G & D too.
