Hope no one was injured. Very upsetting if you live there. Can't understand the mentality that would deliberately set somewhere on fire.

Arson is such a despicable crime.

There should be an automatic second charge of attempted murder if someone sets light to a place they know may be inhabitated at the time of the crime.

It'll leave about 5o sets of people hiomeless for a long while. Luckily, the police think that no one was hurt - they got them all out in time. The road is still closed and the traffic is really bad as it's a main route over the Thames.
They've mentioned it a couple of times on the radio (traffic news)
The road is open again and so is the footpath. I feel really sorry for the people who can't even get in to get their stuff.
Yes and how much is damaged from the fire. Must be awful
Having nowhere to live must be terrible. There isn't a roof anymore and the building isn't safe. They were quite new, expensive flats.

My goodness. I didn't expect so many families to be affected. The fire must've taken a good hold before the Fire Brigade could tackle it. Do the police still think it could have been arson?

Is there some kind of emergency centre?

I'm told a child has been arrested. I have no idea what has happened to the people concerned.
Gossip says that a grudge was held aginst one of the occupants in the flats. Still, an arrest isn't proof of guilt but it does start a lot of gossip.

Had a long drive to our friends...3 hours each way...we didn't realise it was so far.

Anyway they were staying at Cape Coral in a villa that backed onto the river....beautiful

There was a boating dock at the end of the garden that Stephen fished from...and caught one.

We sat out all the time....90F...and that was in the shade!

Enjoyed a bbq a good chin-wag and then drove home again.

Done some packing this evening...ready for bed now.

I'm sure it's the heat that knocks me out....thank goodness for airconditioning and ceiling fans.

Gosh, three hours drive is a very long way - like you coming down to London for the evening.
It all seems to be like that, my brother thinks nothing of a 600 round trip for an evening out. Charles is back in his flat and the area has been opened again. I hope they manage to get compensation. Over a month locked out of a flat should be paid for by someone - and not him.
I hope he does get compensation - else he needs to get a solicitor and sue the building company for the stress, expense of living in a hotel for the length of time, the inconvenience and upheaval - plus the hassle.
Spoilt food and clothers spending as a month in wet in a washing machine. His isn't paying because the problem was external - I've no idea how he's getting on.

No contact is probably good.....I tend to get calls when I'm needed.....rather than 'hello....how are you'

I tend to do those calls.

I'm not one for chatting on the telephone either. (I don't really like using the phone). I tend to phone for a reason rather than just to say hi.
