Dave and charles really like him as well. He's on at the end of October. He's a guest with John Etheridge, so it's a toss up whether it'll be to our taste butm we're free to give it a chance now. I've seen him a fair few times and Julian Bream who is also fantastic.

Hope you enjoy it.
Well, we're still debating. I've been trying to look up John Etheridge and I'm not sure it's going to be classical. Sometimes john Williams does 'different' things but neither of us really like him doing that.

**!! just realised I'd put the chicken in the oven then ate thinking I'd put the lid over it when I'd finished eating....now I've no idea how long it's been in...'cos I forgot about it
I should be walking the dog but we have light drizzle here. At least it stayed sunny for most of the day. I'm waiting to see if it stops.
We've been really lucky. We haven't had rain during the day since last Tuesday. I'm hoping it will keep dry for a couple of days. The workmen should be putting on the tiles as from tomorrow.
It didn't last long here - It's been a fair while since we'd had any rain. Not enough to do more than dampen pavements for a while.

I am so very tired. I hate this time of year when the perennial borders have to be cleared and all the

hedges have to be trimmed. I've lost count on the number of trips to the tip. And it is a race against the

weather breaking again. The bedding plants are still looking too colourful to pull out as yet, but their

days are numbered.

(A good moan does the world of good sometimes!)

Sometimes a good old moan can make you feel better. I don't like Autumn or Winter and we didn't have much of a Summer.
I love the colours of Autumn but not so much the leaf raking which follows and never seems to get any less no matter how hard one works.
I love the mellow colour of the sunshine in autumn. The lazt days as the leacves turn are fantastic. I love the colour, the slowing down and the lack of harshness - and no hayfever. My favorite time of year.

Meg, how you doing with the family details......I had to ask my uncle what his mum's maiden name was.

I was suprised I'd never known.

I take it he didn't have any old birth, marriage certificates of his parents....or you've not come across any.

I should be sleeping but my son phoned to give me his predicted grades for Uni and then I got a coffee.

In the mean time the window surveyor phone and said could he come round in 1/2 an hour.

So I ended up showering.

My husband arrived home just minutes before he arrived.....but I wouldn't have been able to sleep anyway till after he's been.

Meg, as a possible lead, do you know where the family graves are? Or which parish he lived in in his younger

days, then you could check the church or chapel register for christenings of siblings, possibly even his parents'

marriage to give his mother's maiden name. People seldom left their birth district in those days.

Spam, has your son's timetable been finalised yet?

Can't think of any other suggestions, sorry.

Neil's been predicted distinctions

No his timetable still isn't sorted.

His first day in he went looking for people to tell them where to go and what they should be doing only to eventually be told...you shouldn't be in it's your day off!!

He'd only been asking on and off for weeks which their day off was

.....he's since written a letter of complaint about lthe timetable, lessons and lack of adequate teaching which is being investigated.
