Good that his predicted grades are distinctions. Sorry he's not had any joy finding out his timetable. It seems absurd. Hope his complaint gets somewhere.

Wait until he gets kicked out because he's not attended lessons he didn't know he had. Fun, isn't it?

Good for him for standing up and making a complaint. Has he also spoken to the Students' Representative Council?

I have to go out - the whine of the saw/tile cutter is reaching a crescendo now - it's almost unbearable. I hate shopping............... however, staying in seems a worse option.

Its awful when builders are in. I have had my son and his family for meals every night for a fortnight bcause they have no electric or cooker. Last night it was bathtime as well and today my little grand daughter is five so they are again here for just a present opening and cake cutting.(they have no walls etc) She is having a swim party on sunday for 20 kids. she has just started school and because she was at pre school and asked to so many parties they feel they have to reciprocate and killed two birds with one stone as her little brother was three in august and didnt have a party so they have invited a few of his pals as well.At last it looks like some progress, the kitchen is fitted but there is still a lot to do. Looking forward to a rest.

Sounds like you're going to have a busy weekend, Preston. You must already be worn out, looking after your family.

Is the swimming pool one that puts out all the inflateable gadgets, with a water slide?

BT, it sounds as though the worst is nearly over. Then there will be all the dust to clear up.

Spam, great that Neil has been predicted distinctions.....hope he settles in once he knows his timetable.

We are still working in the garden. I'm developing a strong affinity towards ground-cover plants!!!!!!!!And low-growing

evergreens.

Rather you lot than me in most of that. I don't want to garden, swim or have work going on in the house at the moment.

I don't know whether to hope they work the weekend and finidh the tiling ordon't work and give me some peace.

I'm going to go for more of a low maintenance garden too. I'm always a bit scared of ground cover plants.

I'm determined to have a little herb garden. So far my attempts have been hit or miss. I'll have to do more to make sure they get the right location and soil, I think.

I grow lovely slugs and snails. They only seem to eat whatever I plant - never weeds.
Sometimes I'm glad I don't have a garden to worry about.

We're plagued with snails. We once put down pellets but I felt like a serial killer when I saw the vast numbers of all ages. They congregate in what seem to be extended family groups.

I wish I knew of some natural way to keep their population down a bit.

The pellets and salt burn them to death, other things drown them. I just can't bring myself to do it.

I have no compunction about using pellets when I see how they have decimated the plants. The impatiens ( busy

lizzies) rapidly became bare stalks. Even the established perennials were severely attacked in their early stages.

No way is our garden going to become a safe haven for slugs and snails. The only drawback is that we have to be

off the mark in collecting and disposing of the dead ones, before some delinquent blackbird eats them.

I don't kill what I don't have to and I'd put the life of a creature like a snail above that of a flower. If I were growing vegetables that were needed for people's surival, then I may have to act. even then, I'd feel unhappy about it.
I love hedgehogs, Regrettably, I haven't seen any around this area for years and years.

well after your horror stories I'm glad flowers have decided not to grow in our garden.

we have trees and grass and where the flowers should have been is bark.

the gardens either side of us are brilliant....I'll just look at theirs :)

we have our dates for the windows and porch....9th & 10th October....should be something to look forward to
