My mum hardly ever phones me. I think she expects me to phone her. I don't always.

With close family I tend to phone them twice a month and they phone me between times if there are any social gatherings planned. One of my monthly calls is a long catch-up one and the other is a how are you all doing short call.

Because I still live in the family home, I'm the central news exchange point. It's saves them bothering to contact one another.

I do as much business as I can by phone or in person. I don't do things by internet unless I've got another pair of eyes checking my input.

Don't you notice how often I have to edit my posts? I just can't proof read properly on a screen.
Meg - you keep wandering into my dreams. Last night we were in a car (you were driving) to go to see GWTW but little children kept running into the road, sitting down, stopping you driving on. We couldn't see their parents. In the end you had to shout for someone to move them away from in front of the car.
I'd have fitted one of those scoops and put them in an unclaimed children bin. I wouldn't let little things like those stop me. I hate driving in London though.
It's not often it puts up each thread when it refreshes itself after you post. Not as bad now.
Ive found it very slow and sometimes not possible but also WOS same so guess it was my computer so my son has had a look at it and now Im fine again.

Sorry I've been away since last night. Flipping problems with Orange broadband again. I've had foru premium rate (50p a minute calls to them over the course of today and every time you phone they start from the beginning of their manual and go through every step. They're supposed to be technical support. I should be able to say the last guy did this, this and this and we're at this stage but no, everyone starts at the beginning and reinvents the wheel and then when they eventually decide I'll need a line check, I have to change to my PC instead of my laptop because I need to leave my computer on for 4 hours and my laptop shuts down and hibernates if it's left idling too long. So I have to hang up, set up the PC and phone them back. i phone them back they go through all the spiel again and when I get to say I only phoned to tell him my PC is ready for the line check, he then says it's a general system fault which their engineers are dealing with. When I check their phone line 2 hours later it says there's no problem with their broadband system. So I try again and still can't get on. Just after 5 it actually connected and I got online for 10 minutes before it went down again. I wonder how long it will last this time.

I'm really, really mad and I'm going to look in to changing my broadband package.

I got kicked off 5 minutes after I typed that last post and fought with it for another half hour, then tried intermittently for another hour. I gave up and slept on it.

If I suddenly disappear again, don't worry, it'll be my broadband.

What a pest.

I've just come back from 'Lord of the Rings'. It had a pretty much full house. I bet it wouldn't have been closing if it wasn't for 'Oliver'. I would recommend people to see it. It's not really my taste but it is certainly different. Our 10 yr old loved most of it but the spider and the fact that orcs come into the audience to terrify people really made his day.

The special effects are brilliant and should be seen. A lot of use is made olf projected lights and puppetry. Gollum crawls doen a vertical wall when we first see him (a real actor not a puppet) and the black horses and riders are very scary.
