I expect they've seen an upsurge in bookings since the closing date was announced. It's July, so there aren't many more chances to see one of the most theatrical, effects-strewn shows of recent times.

I've never been interested much in fantasy apart from mythology. I got the triple box set of the films of LOTR as a present and I failed to watch LOTR 3 times so I tried to watch the Two Towers - neither kept my ineterest. Same with the Terry Pratchett stuff which has been on telly. I love David Jason as an actor and usually I'll watch anything he's in but not those.

I enjoyed the books of LOTR and Pratchett's books, many times more than the filmed versions. LOTR's different to either. It's an experience it'd be a shame to miss. I feel no need to return to it though. The characters seemed to take second place to the spectacular.

I've never been a fan of the spectacular. I always hated the circus when I was a child. I get fidgety during the action sequences in films. That's why I stopped watching the Bond films. They became more about effects and less about characterisation, strong stories and humour.

I think that's how this affected me but, I'd have been sorry not to see something that is this well done. It made me really realise that 'Gone With The Wind' has attracted my attention so much because the characters are brought to life and you feel with them. Excdept I want to slap Scarlett and despise Ashley. They are played so well, I WANT to tell them to grow up. It makes me laugh and cry and get frustrated with them. Neither 'Chicago' or 'Guys and Dolls' did that - although I enjoyed them very much.
The contents of the Stricken thread are due to pop up later large as life after one knock, ready to start over.

I wish they'd make the songs available for download especially that one.

I thought it had the potential to be the show's "anthem" song but how can people latch on to it if they only hear it once? That one even cracked the defensive wall of the critics.

Although the critics seemed to recognise Darius' talant and saw him as the best thing in the show - the press are reporting it as though it's Darikus' fault it'ss closing. How stupid to close something this good, this quickly.
