David's fine. We can't get out of the habit of always leaving one of us here though. Aftert over 4 years, it's automatic.

I thought that since Dave was out with his friends, Mum's so tired she's gone to bed and I'd brought her a cup of drinking chocolate that I'd use the time to come on here. Tomorrow I'll have to start going through then 7 weeks of unopened post I've got here and start dealing with Dad's affairs as well. I think bedd is a good idea though.
Welcome back meg. Have missed your posts. Its very sad when a grandparent dies. I felt very old today when my four year old granddaughter said cos Nanny is very old and I have felt it this week.

Hi Meg, welcome back. Hope you and Dave have caught up with your sleep. It's a sad time for all of you, but

try to remember that your Father-in-law would not have wanted you all to be unhappy for long. He had a good

life and a long one, and you gave him love and care when he needed it. Focus on the good memories.

Don't think you have missed anything outstanding on TV........just don't miss the Oct 26th show!!!

Good to see you back on here Meg
No reason not to be here now. I'm just going to take Mum down to the shops. She's 18 yrs younger than my father-in-law and it's only the stroke that stops her doing it alone.
Good to see you back Megham. I'm sorry you've had such a hard time of late. Hope you can get back to some sort of normal life now. Sorry about your father-in-law, but it seems it was a happy release not just for him but for all of you .
The trouble is, you're never ready and there always seems to be more you could do. My neighbour was 40 yrs younger but was in so much pain that that was a release although I still miss her. The way it happened with Dad me3ant that he really should still be here.

I often wonder if there is anything in 'everyone has a birth date and a death date'

If that was so there is nothing anyone could have done.

If he had had another day/week/month/year....would he have enjoyed them, would he have been able to do the things he wanted, or would he have been confused and possibly frightened with not remembering where he was or what was happening.

Meg you did everything possible...you gave him another 4 years he wouldn't have had.

Stop beating yourself up.

...Mmmm I think it would be me taking and buying.....but may be possible....but there may be resistance...
I've just watched a programme on Roxy Music, the first band I really liked. The stuff that attracted me then still appeals now. Took me back years.

I'm enjoying watching the Tudors. The historical side has been greatly adjusted ( presumably in the light of greater

dramatic effect ) but neverteless the bare bones are there, and they've certainly gone to town on the settings,

clothing and details of life in those days. Just have to bear in mind that that was not quite how it was, nor quite

the order of events. Peter O'Toole's voice is still as wonderful as ever.....he plays the Pope.

I'm watching the computer screen while my hubby is watching some boring programme on tv.
I've dipped in and out of The Tudors. I was attracted to it when it was the story of the young henry but now it's got to all that Anne Boleyn stuff, the period which has been done to death, I can't be bothered with it.
I'm booking to see John Williams later. I really like him when he plays classical guitar. Not too keen on some of his little excursions into non classical though.
That's great Meg. When and where is he on? Does Dave like him as well?
