Young children let loose with craft materials are truly creative; from the same stuff they produce very different things and they're proud of what they have made. I think older children and adults always have others' opinions at the back of their minds and it limits their creative freedom.

I think Tony Hart helped develop many a child's creative imagination with his TV programmes. What a pity his

hands are now useless....he must miss drawing so much.

I loved Tony Hart. He seemed so avuncular, so patient.

I'm sad to hear he can no longer use his hands. It must be like a living nightmare for him.

I hope he has other compensations, other pleasures. I love the way a child, encouraged but not influenced, can see a different world than mine.
He spends most of his time in a wheelchair, but he still gives talks. He is 83 now .
Such a shame but he reached a lot of children in his time.
And adults. I can't think of a better thing to look back on than knowing you were appreciated.
I'm pretty sure Art Attack and Smart which inspired younger generations, were homages to Tony's programme.

Morph continued on into one of the other programmes but I'm not sure which.

Johnny Ball is another guy who should get a lot more credit for inspiring youngsters.
