Posted April 13, 200817 yr As you all know the Canadian Hot 100 FINALLY started on June, 2007. There's been a lot of UK number ones (by non-Canadian or American artists) that have never seen the light of day in Canada, but there has been a lot that have done well up here, especially lately. There has been a lot of non-Canadian UK hits that have done very well in Canada as opposed to the US. (Especially with euro-dance songs in the 90's. 2 Unlimited, Whigfield, Livin' Joy or Berri anyone? I don't know the exact positions on the old Canadian Singles chart but I know I heard them all the time and everyone knew them.), but now it's more-so becoming the case. The last four UK number 1 hits (all by non-Canadian/American artists) have all charted in Canada and some are doing quite well: Leona Lewis' "Bleeding Love" has already hit #1 a couple of weeks ago, and this week rebounded to #2. Basshunters' "Now You're Gone" has peaked at #88 and charted for four weeks. It's a big club hit up here as well. I listen to dance radio stations and they play it all the time. Duffy's "Mercy" is on it's second chart week and it jumped 94-71. Estelle's "American Boy" Featuring Kanye West is on it's third chart week and it jumped 69-55. And if you go back to 2007, Mika's "Grace Kelly" peaked at #3. It reached that position on a test chart that Billboard had done prior to the official launch of the actual Canadian Hot 100. On the first official chart it was at #12. I guess my whole point to this thread is the fact that Canada has taken notice of a lot of European acts throughout the years and I don't know if a lot of people are aware of this. So much attention is focused on The US not giving enough British music a chance (especially in the 90's and 2000's), but we certainly have up here in Canada and I just wanted to acknowledge that. Not just because I am Canadian but because I love this kind of music and I have all my life. I'm glad to see that a lot of this great music is being exposed over here. :) Note: I REALLY wish the Canadian Hot 100 started decades earlier than it did -_-
April 14, 200817 yr I move this to the International Chart Forum. T_Andy, would it be possible to post the Canadian chart from week to week? Might be interesting and no one does it now.

Thanks. I wasn't sure where I should post it. And sure I could do that. I just have to find a copy & paste friendly version of it as the one from billboard.com is not.
