April 17, 200817 yr Darius must be easy make-up wise - tanned, own moustache and sideburns, no mascara needed with those lashes. Talking of make up - there's seemingly a new partner - the company supplying the make up - bobbi brown?
April 17, 200817 yr Whilst playing Rhett towards the end of the 2nd half, part of D's lines include him announcing he is 45, well it did on the Monday I went to see it. I suppose it could have been cut now, but I would be surprised if it had.
April 17, 200817 yr Do they redo the make up for different characters or is it just wigs and facial hair?
April 18, 200817 yr Author They'll have to redo the makeup I should think as removing and re applying a wig may mess it up. Maybe we'll have a proper answer on the 20th.
April 18, 200817 yr I don't suppose they've got all the behind scenes' schedule running like clockwork yet with all the changes they've been making day after day.
April 18, 200817 yr I just wonder how with all the changes they remember their lines etc and dont say things that they have had to learn a couple or so days before.
April 18, 200817 yr Imagine you've been working to the same cue for ages and suddenly it's not there and you have to react to something completely different. I'm not sure if I read it or heard it but either Darius or Jill said they've been working 16 hour days.
April 19, 200817 yr Author I can believe it. I just find it hard to understand how it can be made so much better so quickly. I loved the second half but, the whole thing is excellant now.
April 19, 200817 yr That's why the members of that particular creative team have such great reputations - experience and the willingness to innovate no matter how out of fashion that seems to be, with so many copycat musicals based on back catalogues, revivals and Broadway transfers which are run to precise seconds of timing from which no-one can deviate , dominating theatre. Musicals do not need to be all sequins, effects, OTT choreography and big lung-busting numbers. I think turning GWTW into oneof those would have been an absolute travesty.
April 20, 200817 yr Author I'm not worried about this anymore, so Hopefully, I wont keep needing to check up on it. although I am going with n ina tomorrow - only 17 days after we'd booked for.
April 20, 200817 yr IThere is a good review on digital spy from allthatjazz for GWTW and for D. I think she is a member of WOS so wish she would post it there as well.. funnily enough we had a new member join yesterday rashje by name and now we are about to get a negative review on WOS showing the same name. Its nice you are not worried about it Meg, wish I had your confidence.
April 20, 200817 yr the rash ..seems to be someone on a fan sites other half, I found a blog of the show too the same name joined .net and has posted on WOS saying they are a female, must be "fansite"other half I assume- the "critic" seems to be full of ideas on how to improve the show  http://rashbre2.blogspot.com/2008/04/gone-with-wind.html move over Sir trevor, now you know where you have been going wrong. April 20, 200817 yr To be fair there's a lot of negativity in several reports about 2 of Melanie's scenes - the birth scene and the fact she sings when she's on her death bed - and the pretend riding, carriage/buggy driving So what do those here who've seen those really think? I was moved by Mellie's death in the film so I don't think for me, it would be a musical moment.
