Nothing, nothing at all comes close to the theme music to the US cop series Hill Street Blues. Just as there is no other cop show before or after that could match it. I don't know how to embed a youtube clip but please just take a listen to this. Mike Post at his best.

I have done it for you Norma

Thanks BA! Its a great tune isn't it?

I sure is, it was cool programme too. :yahoo:

It certainly paved the way for NYPD Blue, Homicide .... Life On The Streets, Law & Order and thanks to one brilliant episode concerning a pathologist ... all of the CSI's. Mary Tyler Moore was certainly a good executive producer. I did my thesis on Hill Street Blues - that's why I love it so much.

Do you still watch them now? I love to watch all the old TV programmes, they were much better than what's on the TV these days. :cheer:

Every afternoon that Midsummer Murders is on and that is such a weird programme, i can never get my head around it at all.

Now and again I get to watch an episode of HSB (when I have a day off) but I did have the whole series on tape and can remember almost every episode anyway. I keep promising to treat myself to the DVD boxed set - but I've been told the quality isn't so good so I've never bothered. HSB is the only TV series where I've seen a 'believable' woman police officer, in the shape of Lucy Bates (Betty Thomas - who has gone on to be a successful film director). I must admit though - I also loved Homicide ... Life On The Streets - another show with an ensemble cast.

The guy with the moustache, was his name something like Detective Belker. He used to be fantastic in it.

Detective Mick Belker ... the copper who bit people! He had some of the best stories (especially the one involving Captain Freedom). But I remember one line especially from him when he was undercover in a cinema and this guy put his arm around him and he says something like "move it or lose it at the elbow" I don't know why I remember that line but I do.

anyone remember Callan starring Edward Woodward

Some kids ones

The Trap Door

Jamie and the Magic Torch

Couple of cartoons from the 80s

Ulysses 31

Battle of the Planets

The theme to The Prisoner is brilliant (and a terrific opening sequence too).
