I nominate Placebo

http://www.sessiocontinua.com/uploaded_images/placebo-755284.jpg

Placebo are an alternative rock band formed in London in 1994. The band currently comprises Brian Molko and Stefan Olsdal. The band formed when Molko and Olsdal, who went to the same school but apparently never spoke, met again by chance in London and subsequently formed 'Ashtray Heart'. Placebo was founded when former Luxembourg schoolmates Brian Molko and Stefan Olsdal met by chance at South Kensington tube station in 1994; they had previously attended the American International School of Luxembourg together (and Molko had also attended the European School of Luxembourg). Molko was performing at a local bar and invited Olsdal to watch him one night. On the strength of Molko's performance, Olsdal decided they should form a band. While briefly known as Ashtray Heart, the band quickly settled on the name Placebo.

no offense i'd like to remind you that i'm hosting this so could you please allow me to perform these tasks in the future

thank you though

Manic Street Preachers

Best Single:Indian Summer

Best Album:Send Away The Tigers

How on earth is this album better that The Holy Bible!!!!!!

And Indian Summer would come so far down on any list of best Manics songs.

Just want this fine band properly represented.

The Cult - were they that good??? thought they were as useful as INXS from recent reviews.

however if your gonna have the cult - how about The Doors, and you could also have people like The Byrds, Love, MC5, David Bowie, Sparks if its suposed to be all types of rock (classic, country, glam) and not just macho Rawwwk Guitar freenzy

also maybe the Rolling Stones and U2 should get a mention - well big enough rock stars to get a film in cineworld - must be doing something right

Why don't you go and listen to them then oh arbiter of good taste!

Yes The Doors, The Stones, The Byrds, The Beatles, Love, MC5, The Stooges, Can, Oasis, U2, Soundgarden, The Animals, Sweet, T. Rex and a load of others should be included. Why don't you nominate them then? BTW Bowie is a singer not a band!

no offense i'd like to remind you that i'm hosting this so could you please allow me to perform these tasks in the future

thank you though

I nominate Aerosmith. B)

Ok, so in the last 10 Years they've gone a bit mushy. They're still creating good music, although it lacks the unique Bluesy-Rock Edge creativeness they once had. (However, Honkin' On The Bobo [2004], is rather good.). That aside, their 70's and 80's material (pre-drugs era) is outstanding! If you havn't, you should check out 'Toys In The Attic' and 'Rocks'. Two of their finest albums, which brought some of the loudest rock crowds of the day. Oh, and Wino and Pete Dorethy wouldn't stand a chance against Aerosmith in the 70's, Tyler and Joe Perry are the original caners. (Although it's not something to applaud. -_- ) Although they had one of the best comebacks in history in the 80's after finally getting clean! (Take a hint Wino.)

Best Single - Dream On [1973]

One of the first real power ballads. This p/sses over 'I Dont Wanna Miss A Thing'/ <_<

Best Album - Rocks [1976]

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/8/87/Aerosmith_-_Rocks.JPG/200px-Aerosmith_-_Rocks.JPG

1. Back in the Saddle

2. Last Child

3. Rats in the Cellar

4. Combination

5. Sick as a Dog

6. Nobody's Fault

7. Get the Lead Out

8. Lick and a Promise

9. Home Tonight

One of Aerosmith's most critically acclaimed albums. It was the album that inspired former-Guns N Roses and Velvet Revolver guitarist 'Slash' to pick up the guitar, has inspired work by Metallica and is one of Kurt Cobains most favourite albums. If you havn't, you should really check it out!

Am I allowed another nomination?
