hi everybody !!

Do you know afrobeat music? It’s the new African sound between hiphop and funk, jazz and world music and rythms!!!!

I love to listen this music... in the subway or at work, it’s make me feel so happy all day long!!

Unfortunately there isn’t much artist playing real good afrobeat music. But two weeks ago I fall in love to the beat of Seun Kuti! You must know this fabulous artist!! Seun is the youngest son of Fela Anikulapo Kuti, he is only 19 years old and he already plays with Egypt 80 (his father band). His first album “Many Things” will be released the 28 of April 2008, in france listening to some tracks ( MySpace at http://www.myspace.com/seunkuti ), he seems to be promising. I also heard about a concert tour in England, but I don’t know much about it…

I hope you will like his music as much as me.

See you soon , maybe in this place :

yeah i know of some afrobeat music and of Femi Kuti/Fela Kuti/Africa 70 - tho i guess the Afrobeat term would not be a new genre but one that has been used for about 30 years (probs even before people came up with 'world music) - however i guess now yeah more hip-hop influences will be used in Afrobeat rather than just be a mixture of highlife rhythms and jazz-funk - i guess people who are fans of Daara J, MC Solaar and Emmanuel Jal might be intersted.
