Also on a sadder note it's 40 years since Steve Sholes passed away. RIP.

Steve Sholes (February 12, 1911 in Washington, D.C. - April 22, 1968 in Nashville, Tennessee) was an American record producer.

He was one of the most influential producers in postwar music. As the producer and manager of RCA's country division, [1] Sholes was responsible for signing both Chet Atkins and Elvis Presley, and the birth of the Nashville Sound.
