I think that Belle has an innocense but carnel knowledge as well, she's an innocent in the world at large though.

perhaps to long, and another story, I felt it showed Rhett to be caring and set me wondering about the boy, his son I took it to be, sired to a prostitute? when he was young, sent away to be schooled and him and Belle still close - she loved Rhett, would do anything for him - imagining if they could have been together with their son, but knowing societys codes. sorry me doing my usual and reading a complete new story into something on a tangent..LOL

The Telegraph Arts copies of the TCM ones of the songs from the dress rehearsal have buttons for "get the link" and "get the code" so they can be added to a website

Seeing his love for Scarlett's children I think if it had been Rhett's son he would have not cared what anyone thought and they would have been together.

thats true, Spam - I am as usual reading too much into subtext in the book and the films use of looks and little scenes and mention of Belle - you are right, Rhett wouldnt care, he would have rescued her from the life she led in the face of society if he loved her, if she had let him- whoops off on another story line..

Lots of people wouldn't want to spoil what GWTW the novel meant to them but I found Rhett Butler's People fascinating. It's only what Donald McCaig imagined from filling in the blanks from the few clues in GWTW. I'm going to read it again when I get back from Canada i.e. after I've seen GWTW the musical so my Rhett is fresh in my mind.

I wonder if its worth reading, I find I am left wondering .. I may yet get the new edition of GWTW, and I may even get Rhetts people..

I don't know if Rhett Butler's People is out in paperback yet. I bought the new edition of GWTW.

 

I'll probably also buy one piece of merchandise. One piece with the logo is enough. I'd buy more things if they featured Darius and Jill/Mammy.

I want a brochure, nearly bought a mug - but I wanted Darius on it really, the ones with the "torn"flag and logo on were nice though.

This show has really made me like going to Lonon, not that I owuld venture there alone mind you, I wish it wasnt over £20 to get there! I felt like I was on holiday, reminded me of Italy in a little cafe, when we were eating a ciapatta and a cuppacino..only London isnt as clean...

I want to be back at the theatre again...

thinking about the lyrics in that song - she was 16, she wanted ot be a "child" again, so I took it as that, didnt really feel the lyrics were out of place -

She wanted the freedom to flirt and no responsibilty. rhettt cared for Belle because she had a 'good heart' and was an honest and direct person.

yes, I suppose like my 17 year old, I see her as a child, though she loves to flirt and preen and definately have no responsibilities ..LOL

They feel so grown up and we still see they as children. They should enjoy this time, it doesn't last long. Another year and she could be engaged.

I think Darius and Natasha have the right attitude - have a good career but not at the expense of losing precious time with the boys.

 

The boys stay with their real father too when Natasha is filming, so their lives are not disrupted. She's filming a mini-series in Canada for the next month
