That's not the way I read it mate.... It's all exploitation and objectification at the end of the day, whether done consciously or unconsciously, and it does have a knock-on effect for other females trying to make their way in the "bizz".... Why do these girls feel the need to act in this way....? Is it really just "parody"....? Or cynical manipulation...? I suspect the latter..... You can justify just about any old tacky c**p by merely labelling it "irony" or "camp"..... And PCD were most assuredly extremely tacky, making Girls Aloud ot Sugababes look like The Slits or The Go Gos.....

even IF the pcd are a parody, they are still using sex to sell. they and their like are not doing the female sex any favours by pandering to the base level.

 

ive thought for a long time that there is a direct correlation between how much flesh a female artiste shows and the quality of their music....

Unless they use provocation to be deliberately confrontational, like Katie Jane Garside (singer/co-songwriter of Queen Adreena) does.....

Frankly, I have more respect for the likes of Dita Von Teese, she readily admits to being an adult Cabaret/Burlesque/Striptease act... She doesn't market herself to kids, she's very much an adult-oriented act......
