It's time to confirm Sangria's entry to the BJSC6 in Eledan. In the national final there were two big favourites but the jury had to come to a decision...and they finally did :D

So I have the honour to announce that NOX will represent Sangria in the next (and our first) contest :cheer:

Country: Sangria http://img404.imageshack.us/img404/5803/flag2ac1.jpg

Song: Ébredj fel!

Lyrics: Attila Valla

So good luck for everyone and see you soon in Eledan!

Well, Cascadia is definitely in. Song and artist are TBC.
Coco, who sings vocals on 'Toca's Miracle' has been quoted as saying, "those bitches from Simondly won't know what has hit them. I'm going out there to win, and most importantly to be the highest place trance act out there."

wow! so many 'big hits' entering this time around...loving every song selected so far to be honest...

Hide and Seek is

They is

Let Me Think About It is

Opium is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G

Nox are excellent...

Dreams, Toca's Miracle and Set You Free are amongst my best songs of all time!

Ok, after being robbed last time by...well...hmm..almost every participant Land Of Jack has decided to try again. I thougth that this was gonna be in June (thou I'm not complaining, I actually thought that was pretty darn big gap between the contests so this is way better and actually fits perfectly right before the real competition in May) so I haven't decided what to send but at least I have about two weeks to decide my entry. I actually have already few in mind. And Rich, does your country have something against the good (well, the great) people of Land Of Jack? Not only have Rontvia remembered us with zero points in every single contest but you also left us out from the all countries that have participated in the final list in the statistics thread. Well, this time we are going to impress you :P

the Rontvian public apologises for this distress due to a computer glitch and has now included Land Of Jack into the stats thread

:yahoo: Many countries wish to participate. We might have a semifinal
Oh yeah, and Serebro are totally going to clean the floor with N-Trance and Fragma :smoke::kink:

Herzebania is confirming its debut participation :D

I've put details in the registration thread....if I need to do anything else let me know!

The artist and song are to be confirmed, but you can look forward to an impressive, star-studded national final....watch this space

I'm not sure what my opinion of the big hits entering is. I tried choosing a song that wouldn't be so well known here because that's how I thought it worked generally. There are quite a lot of songs in this contest that I already knew already. All the songs you mentioned, except for the Nox and Imogen Heap ones are songs that I was already familiar with before the contest (well, I heard 'Opium' once and didn't like it) and I was expecting to have only heard a few of them.

I suppose choosing a song that's well known is a safe way to finish highly in this contest though. If it were up to me, I'd be against UK top 10 hits being entered. :drama:

And if you don't give Quotosibb your top points, I think that will be enough to get you the chop from being mod of the Beverley forum. :naughty:  Except I'd have no one to mod with, so we'd have to rehire you.

Anyway, your song is without a doubt my favourite so far, it's just that I find it a bit safe because it's one that most of us are likely to have heard before, so it already has a lead over some songs that people wont have heard before. (unless they've heard it and hated it) Nothing against your choice in particular, there are quite a lot of songs that I've heard already it's just a general comment about the songs that were top 10 in the UK.

I was trying to get my younger brother (Patr0nus) to sign up yesterday in case we didn't have that many people entering, but I think we should be okay. He may sign up though.

Pavel I'm not sure if you saw as you have them in the "we hope they'll participate section" but Mdice confirmed thier entry in the previous page. :)
Shame nobody seems to be commenting on mine(Inside Of You)

still hoping for at leat match what nirvana got me

No one's commenting on mine either. 0 points for me. :drama:

I was surprised that Russell Brand actually had an alright voice when I gave it a listen. I was expecting it to be really bad, but it isn't. ^_^

Could we possibly have Youtube links added to the first post? Or is there going to be a new thread like that after everyone has signed up?

Maybe you could make a national thread, that way the spotlight would be completly on Quotosibb and it's songs and not any other country. Like give people an area to give thier opinion.

Black Butta's quite good, it's unique compared to the other entries so I think it'll get far from 0 points ^_^

I'm not entirely sure what the national threads are for. But I suppose I could make one. ^_^

'Black Butta' is certainly unique here, but that could work against it by looking out of place.

none of the five winning songs so far have been UK top ten hits (yet at least...Sara Bareilles may change that soon). I don't usually give my top points to songs I already know...I give my top points to 'my favourite discoveries' of each contest...last time Kate Voegele's Only Fooling Myself from Triodoplois got 12 points because I loved the song and it was the first time that I'd heard it...I liked some of the other songs more, but submitting a big hit is a bit boring for me personally...I like to get people to discover new music through this contest, rather than voting which song is the best from the ones they already know

I haven't heard Black Butta before so perhaps from my point of view, that's an advantage!?!

I agree, I think it's better for people to submit songs that most of us wont have heard before, if we want to rate songs we've heard before we can play Record of the Decade or something like that. I'd rather see someone entering something like "Right Back At Ya" by the Spice Girls than something like "Wannabe". Seeing that popular songs in the charts haven't won so far is good though.
