I know this is not gonna go down well here, but this is the first choice for a Goldfrapp single I dislike intensely. I'm not feeling the video either. However, an act as creative and diverse as Goldfrapp, I would be a fool to think I would like everything they do.

^I like the single choice but i agree the video is terrible, you would think if they are trying to put out the more comercial songs they would make effort with the video to be interesting as well, otherwise they might as well put out any old song on there.
Just read that interview  didn't expect her to swear so much, I always thought of her as being peaceful and innocent lol, I reckon deep down shes a liiiiiittle bit jealous of Duffy's success.
Very Good single choice actually I like it ^_^ Goldfrapp have been my major surprise this year musically I hated them Befor eA&E (Which is one of my faves of the year) and their album is pretty good too :o
Good track, but easily the most unsubtly commercial thing on the album...I don't think Goldfrapp - hell, I don't think anyone - can do anything as perfectly commercial and beautiful at the same time as A&E...

I very much doubt it. I dare say Goldfrapp will outlive Duffy.

They probably will but I was refering to like how Duffy has gained success right away with her first album being such a huge success, yet Goldfrapp I'm guessing had to work alot more for their success to come as they mentioned about the advert.

Yeah Ms Duffy will probs be successful for a while until the next big contemporary style arives and all those post-winehouse types like her and Adele will be as welcome as much as a new Lisa Stansfield CD - tho Winehouse (if she doesnt completely self-destruct) will still have success and Mercy will be still played on smooth...

Goldfrapp will continue on Mute doing what they do and even if they don't have another top ten will still have a loyal fanbase - will continue like Britpop Duffy but more successful

Awwww Lisa Stansfield!

She did do some good tracks during her time though, and she still tours every now and then.

Actually Lisa Stansfield is someone my parents like a lot - well the smooth soul stuff dont think they will be into dirty rotten scoundrals/Alex Gaudino versions of people hold on  - they've got quite a few albums as well - such as the ZTT one below which 'lives' not too far away from this keyboard

Alex Gaudino - Lil' Love - Little Love (btw this is good  better than like a perfecto pigbag footy match any day  )

Lil Love 'Little Love' is indeed a track!

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels however... Give me Tori Amos anyday!

but Duffy's had gazillions spent on promotion and her record company have been giving some meaty pay-outs to radio stations, newspapers and magazines to laud her as "The Next Big Thing'. Duffy's great, but don't think she got where she is due to how excellent she is. The public needed an Amy Winehouse that doesn't fall over and vomit over herself in public...and hey presto - they've got one in Duffy.

Problem is, Duffy's a carbon copy of a great, great British singer called Carmel who had a few criminally minor hits in the 80s.... check for yourself...

Carmel 'Mercy'

Carmel 'Bad Day' (incredible single)

Carmel 'Every Little Bit'

Carmel 'More More More'

Carmel 'It's all in the game'

Carmel 'I'm over you'

Carmel 'Sally'

Carmel 'Willow Weep For Me'

well she's supposed to sound a bit like Mari Wilson as well - who is supposed to be like another 1960s Dusty-a-like...tho i think she probs turns up in the west end and at jazz places these days...

havent come across carmel on a 100 hits thing yet...i don't think i will come across her accidentaly switching on the hits when they are doing their 80s rundown either (as its always seems to be bros and nkotb)...also confused with prog rock band Camel

Nice interview.

She has everything summed up really, about how the industry treats women.

I like her no-bullsh!t attitude... Very Punk Rock in a lot of ways, she's got that instinctive Bullsh!t Detector that the likes of John Lydon has... Nah, she talks straight, I like that.... And she's spot on about Duffy and the "Brit School" if you ask me.... Both rather contrived..... The likes of Lennon, Lydon, Ozzy and Bowie didn't need some sh!tty "academy" to teach them how to be Rock Stars and they somehow managed to "muddle through" didn't they...? It's utterly bogus.....

Exactly... I particularly liked the anecdote about the French journalist... Frankly, I would've given her a "get out of jail free" card if she'd just gotten up and totally lamped the patronising c/unt on a general principle.....

Caravan Girl reached #54

With a terrible, lazy video and next to no promotion, what did they expect? Now let's hope this era dies a death and we can move on to an album which actually merits repeat listenings.
