From the Daily Record:-

STARS ROCK VEGAS

Beverley Lyons And Cath Bennett

THERE was an eclectic mix of guests at the VH1 Rock Honours in Las Vegas.

Wildman Gene Simmons rubbed shoulders with clean-cut crooner Darius Danesh while the Judas Priest gang tried intimidating a virginal-looking Jaime Pressly, pictured right.

The US bash was first of what will become an annual event, paying tribute to the most ground-breaking bands in rock.

KISS, Queen and Def Leppard were among those honoured.

Scots singer Darius turned up with his girlfriend, Natasha Henstridge, who caused a bit of a stir with her incredibly revealing dress.

Im sure some on here would like to see the dress.,

Thanks, preston. It's always nice to know he's hale and hearty. We're lucky to get these little snippets from the States. What gives with the "crooner"? Unless I'm mistaken, Darius has only ever released 3 tracks that could possibly be described as songs he's crooned - one in 2002...... Let There be Love, one in 2003.....I've Got You under My Skin, and one in 2004.....Devil In You.

3 out of 40 tracks, (excluding the a side singles, remixes and live covers) makes him a crooner? Absolute tosh!

We all know how lazy the people in the media are  It's easier to use a generic label than to tax themselves delving into a dictionary

Thanks for the photo link, B.P. I think we must have been posting about the same time.

It's strange to see Darius with short hair and clean shaven at an event where most people are long-haired and stubbled at least. Most times in LA (I know this was Las Vegas), he has so much stubble it's nearly a beard. Maybe he's doing something that needs the shorter style - I like it anyway.

NP Bay :) He looks sharp, except for the jeans I mean

the dress is tres revealing isnt it! some lovely pictures

I think Natasha looks fantastic in that dress  I love it, but some on .net have said the don't like it :o

Darius looks a bit down to me though :( , does anyone else think so?

I personally don't like that dress- even if I had the body to wear it, I would like to think I would choose something with a bit more class. I also think Darius looks far too under dressed. Natasha made an effort and he didn't- typical man!

Please don't shoot me for expressing these views :)

Quite understand madam cholet. Here is another viewpoint slightly different of girlfriends from louis walsh. What do you think. This is from the NOTW mag today. Louis tells what he really thinks about popstars girlfriends. Quote girlfriends wreck artistes. When you are putting together a band do you say they have to be single. I do, but the girlfriends claw their way back in and you find them on the red carpet. Thats not what pop music is about. Its about great songs and sex appeal- you have to sell the acts as being single. Is your work easier now that x factor does all the work. ninety five percent of people on the x factor dont have it and they are dreadful. Where are GG, the big girl from scotland michelle macmanus and hearsaY. There has been a lot of caualties from reality tv.

He's wearing a tuxedo after all.

Looking at the other guests, I'd say it was Natasha who was overdressed for the occasion and Darius had the dress code about right.

Re your post, preston, one might as well say where are Reel, Natural, D-side, that girl that sang Misfit, and all the others Simon and Louis tried to shove down everybody's throats. It's just too easy to pick on those who have been on reality TV and I detest the way squirts like Louis and lazy media people do it all the time.

Louis and Simon hate songwriting artists and prefer feeding covers and Swedish seconds to their artists to sing the top line melody and maybe some BVs but then take all other creative control out of their hands. they then get teams of people to finish the track. No wonder they can churn out single after single and album after album.

I don't think either L or S has a clue how long it takes to write the songs, experiment with the sounds then record the artist playing his instrument(s)plus other instruments, singing the top line, all the harmonies and backing vocals. L and S would have a fit if any artist of theirs wanted to do a Darius and produce his whole album in such an organic fashion as he did on Dive In. Worse if like Darius the artist insisted on learning the technical skills of mixing and producing at the same time.

Gareth Gates is taking creative control and is writing, playing, singing and possibly doing technical work on his 3rd album.

Perhaps Louis would then understand why it can take artist 2 to 3 years between albums.

Nobody starts all the where is so and so, so and so is all washed up when other songwriting artists and groups disappear to make another album.

Do we assume that reality TV artists are so superior, they are considered to be more talented and so should be able to release self written albums quicker? If that's what Louis is saying, I'll go along with it to a point - Darius and Gareth are a lot more talented than many artists who get media kudos for sampling or covering others' work and writing credits for, as Pete Glenister says, "being in the studio when the song is written" or contributing a phrase or two.

Yes, but with jeans. Why do men do that? B.P., some answers, please!! :D

I once had jeans and a Tuxedo :o It was a fancy dress do for Bass, billed as smart casual, hence the combo :D Oh and I also had a Luciano Pavarotti mask on :D

Not sure about the Pavarotti mask, but you're obviously a trend setter of the 'Smart-Casual' look B.P. ;) :D
