Is Quotosibb Ready to H-Boogie?

 

To celebrate her debut entry into the BJSC, H-Boogie going on a world tour and what better place to start than in Quotosibb, country that has enterred her sister Estelle twice?

 

This brand new artist is far more focused on electro-urban music and so it will be interesting to see how she goes down in this very soulful nation. H-Boogie kicked off with 'Breakdown' before performing her collaboration with Italian Dance Producer Get Far and the song she will be enterring into BJSC XXI, 'The Radio'. H-Boogie aka Haigara seemed just as excited about Quotosibb's entry this month as she did about performing, 'It's great to see Beverley returning to the contest with the legend that is Chaka Khan!! I can't believe we could be performing on the same stage and I hope the rest of the BuzzJack world realises how beautiful their song is'.

 

 

Quotosibb LOVES H-Boogie. Anyone related to Estelle must be good, had to check her out when Estelle said she was her sister on Twitter. :lol:

 

Very nearly sent her song with Dave Armstrong, "Love Has Gone", once. But decided it might be a bit too Dance for BJSC. Like her song with Bashy as well.

 

Think I prefer the song you're not sending, heard it on her Myspace a while ago, but your entry is also good. ^_^ She needs to hurry up and get an album out (not sure she's signed though?)

There is mention of her completing her debut album so I think she is signed but not 100% sure who to. I prefer Your Wish is My Command to Love Has Gone but almost all of her stuff to date has massive potential. It was very close between Breakdown and The Radio but i think I've possibly listened to Breakdown too much in the past year already :lol:

Cherri V ft. Wiley - Skool Daze

Like this, but I don't think it's a BJSC entry. 1) It features Wiley. 2) The chorus isn't as strong as it could be. 3) It's a bit childish; she's doing school tours.

 

Keri Hilson - I Like

I dunno, even though it's not, it feels a bit cheap. It's also in danger of feeling a bit ballad-y, in which case I might as well risk "Alienated".

 

Jazmine Sullivan - Call Me Guilty

Easily my favourite of my choices, been one of my top songs I heard this year. I think it's quite an interesting song, singing about killing an abusive boyfriend, yet it's catchy.

 

Jazmine Sullivan - Bust Your Windows

This is, of course, if TIP decides not to use the Glee version. Another dark song by Jazmine, but it might be a bit safer. (even though it's not as catchy?)

 

Sky Ferreira - Animal

Beautiful cover, but could be deemed as 'dull' or 'not as good as the original' by dirty haters.

 

SO YEAH. Basically, they all have their down sides, hence me being stuck.

Jasmine Call Me Guilty/Bust Your Windows (peaked #2 in my charts) are nice but seriously it's more than a year since I bought her album...I'm not sure if I wanna listen to her old songs again :no:

Keri/Bust Your Windows are my favourites but as Addy said, Keri's been used a LOT here...so I'd go with Jazmine, surprised it's not been sent before to be honest...

 

completely off topic, but I heard All I Need To Get By playing in Eastenders just now and it reminded me that I have always thought that the Mark Ronson cover of the Mary J Blige version would be a PERFECT Quotosibb entry...gorgeous song :heart: went top ten in my chart a couple of years back, I was obsessed with it :o

 

I dont even need to check the others out, I know Keri is my fav. Love that track.

No I won't say they're all rubbish. :) Because if you bothered having an eye on my chart you'd know that the Keri track was Top TEN! And i really dislike Keri's music (apart from The Way I Are, but there's Timbo anyway).

I was joking really, I did see that chart. I think it had something about being a Keri loon in the subject line. I also know you like Miike Snow, so there's a chance you'd like this cover. (or you could hate it)

 

HMM...Keri seems to be a common theme. Good to see someone who doesn't like her liking it as well. I think she'd be a good one to send as she's probably had my favourite album of 2009, would be a good way to end it.

I don't rate them that highly, but I love this. <3 It's a nice, acoustic version. I don't think it's a BJSC entry though, I'd compare it to something like "Samson".
