September 27, 200816 yr 'Cobrastyle' is major ewwww. Though I could enter the far superior original version and see who does best.
September 27, 200816 yr who did the original, The Knife or Teddybears, I can never remember!?! one of them had something to do with another Robyn track didn't they?
September 27, 200816 yr Teddybears, who actually worked with Robyn on her album as well as the Knife.
September 27, 200816 yr I'm still yet to hear the original, I love Robyn's version though, there are a few good alternative Robyn tracks floating about, another one being List Of Demands, a duet with Jenny Wilson
September 27, 200816 yr Author Hmm well it seems like it's between Robyn and Lily Allen. Lily seems like the safest choice as no one has particularly expressed hate towards it whereas 'Konichiwa Bitches' and 'Cobrastyle' have both been slated, but have also had love expressed towards them. I just listened to the original of 'Cobrastyle' and I think it's on one of the old FIFA games - they can have some good songs on them, it's how I first heard "You'll Find A Way". What about 'Dream On'? I don't think I've got any comments on that apart from Ben asking if I'd heard it. YIqrZka7Src Robyn - Dream On I think my entry is likely to be between "Dream On", "Cobrastyle" or "Don't Get Me Wrong" at the moment...
September 27, 200816 yr Dream On is fantastic, re-entered my personal chart this week, I heard it originally this time last year  it takes a while to grow whereas Cobrastyle could be a bit love/hate I honestly can't imagine anyone not at least liking Dream On, you'd need a heart of stone not to be won over by it :o so basically 1. Dream On 10/10 2. Cobrastyle 9/10 3. Don't Get Me Wrong 9/10 oh and you know it's Christian Falk feat Robyn, so you'd have to reserve him as an artist should you choose that track
September 27, 200816 yr Dream On would get such high points from me. I prefer the original version compared to the edited version released on the Robyn album, but still. I was considering entering it this competition as well. ;o
September 27, 200816 yr Author oh and you know it's Christian Falk feat Robyn, so you'd have to reserve him as an artist should you choose that track Oh right, I figured it was Christian singing on the other version and this was just Robyn but I realised that's Ola Salo. I guess like he's a Swedish Mark Ronson. Dream On would get such high points from me. I prefer the original version compared to the edited version released on the Robyn album, but still. I was considering entering it this competition as well. ;o I've listened to both versions on Youtube a few times and I think it works better without Ola Salo. Hmm...I'm pretty sure it's going to be 'Dream On' now, it's really grown on me and I only heard it for the first time last night! I do feel slightly easily led if I go for this though. Robyn wasn't even in my head until RFC thought one of my clues was about 'Konichiwa Bitches' which led me to consider that, then I thought I should pick a slightly better choice with 'Cobrastyle' then I was directed to 'Dream On' so I don't feel like I found it myself as I wouldn't have heard it otherwise. I don't think there's anything wrong with that though, I think 'Dream On' is a better song. I was just introduced to it by someone else and I can't be the first person to consider using a song shown to me by another person.
September 27, 200816 yr Give it some time. :o Your entries aren't even due till October 10th anyway, so you have a good two weeks to listen to it, mull it over, etc. I definitely don't want you to feel like I'm pressuring you to enter this song. I'm just letting you know I love it. :o Tis all. The reason I suggested Dream On earlier was just that it was another option that wasn't an obvious Robyn song (Who's That Girl, With Every Heartbeat, etc.)

The reason I suggested Dream On earlier was just that it was another option that wasn't an obvious Robyn song (Who's That Girl, With Every Heartbeat, etc.) Oh of course I'm going to listen to it a lot before the deadline and if I change my mind on what I think of it I wont send it. I don't feel pressured into sending it at all. What I meant is that it almost feels like theft to use a song I wouldn't have otherwise heard of because I didn't find it myself. I'm glad you introduced it to me though. I really wouldn't have gone for any of her UK top 40 hits from the past year though.
September 28, 200816 yr I know you wouldn't have haha. That's why I suggested another song that wasn't a top 40 hit.

September 28, 200816 yr Author I don't like it :P :o Well we all knew you had a heart of stone anyway. You clearly aren't a fan of Robyn at all. :(
September 28, 200816 yr :o Well we all knew you had a heart of stone anyway. You clearly aren't a fan of Robyn at all. :( She has one song from the late 90s that is just about alright, but that's as kind as I can be to her to be honest. I just don't really get all the fuss about her.
September 28, 200816 yr Her new stuff is so much better than her old stuff. Omg her self titled album is pop perfection!
September 28, 200816 yr I've liked her since Show Me Love but I didn't particularly start following her again until 2005...I'm not going to pretend I was an avid follower of her work in the seven years in between  I think it was Be Mine that got me back into her actually
September 28, 200816 yr Author I think it was Be Mine that got me back into her actually  Be Mine is my favourite single from this last album. Actually, apart from her self titled album I think I've only heard 'Keep This Fire Burning' from her. (for obvious reasons  ) I missed her success here the first time around.
September 29, 200816 yr which is understandable, she hardly qualfied as massive here in 1998 with one fairly minor top ten hit, she was bigger in the US I think...

Plus I only started listening to the charts on and off the week Martine McCutcheon was #1 so it's even less likely that I would have heard of her. I was quite the Martine fan actually. :kink: I had all her singles on CD and when I fell over and badly damaged my teeth in year 4, my mum wrote to her and she sent a signed photo back with 'Get Better Soon' on it. :heehee: I still have it on my wall actually. The CDs are all long gone though and I only have 'Perfect Moment' now. -_- [/random tangent]
